Description
Assagai-First Album-Vertigo Records-Original Swirl Label-Rare Australian Release
AfrobeatVertigo Records. Rare Australian Swirl Label issue from 1978 6360 030 Vinyl LP. This Assagai album was originally released by Vertigo records in the UK in 1971 and according to Record Collector is rare and worth 150.00 pounds in mint condition.
Please note when bidding for this record I will require trackable shipping and insurance. It can be more expensive unfortunately, however it is the most secure way of posting.
For example posting to the UK includes, as well as air postal costs: Insurance Cover (for $60 to $140) $9.60 ---- ($200 to $300 would be an insurance cost of $14.60). Delivery Confirmation $3.85.
For less priced records ($20 / $30 / $40 ) I will post "Australia Post Registered Post International" with signature on delivery. Please wait for an invoice before paying. I only charge for what my actual postal and packaging costs are. Thank you.

Information of interest:
Condition Please look at the pictures:
The record:
I have classed this using the Record Collector Grading as "Very Good".
There is obvious crackle between tracks consistent with normal playing wear.
Side 2 track 1 at the approximately the 1m 20sec mark has one slight click.
This record is not brand new or in mint condition so if that is what you are after then to avoid any
disappointment please refrain from bidding if you prefer mint condition.
The cover:
The inner sleeve is the original and it is of the plastic type.
Gatefold Cover:
The cover is in very good condition with a little wear at the edges.
Cleaning of Records
All the records are cleaned with genuine established record cleaning solution and then with a
carbon fiber record cleaning brush with anti-static quality (not a cheap one).
Grading
I use the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide as below.
2. MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
3. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
4. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
5. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
6. FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
7. POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
8. BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
Packaging of Records
I use well tried and trusted packaging as per many of the sellers you will find on Ebay that have sold many records.
I package the albums inside professional cardboard record mailers which provide good protection for the corners and edges.
I also remove the LP from the sleeve to avoid seam splits.
Step 1
I remove the record from the cover but keep the record in its plastic sleeve then I seal the record cover entirely with the Glad Wrap.
This is to ensure that the edges of the cover are protected during shipping and to keep it dry just in case it comes into contact with water.
Step 2
I place the record, still within its plastic sleeve, on top of the sealed record cover and then Glad Wrap them both together.
This keeps the actual record protected better than if it were kept in its cover.
If the record is kept inside the cover, during transit, if handled roughly, it can end up breaking through the cover,
especially with older, more worn record covers. this can also cause damage to the record itself.
Step 3
I wrap the record twice in bubble wrap and tape it closed.
Close the box up and seal all edges with packing tape.
