Description
ATLANTIC RHYTHM & BLUES 1947-1974
Atlantic Records
7 81620-1-& 1985
Very rarely offered! This is a phenomenal 14 record set of thirty years of rhythm and blues recordings by the artists who made these recordings such great hits. In his liner note, Ahmet Ertegun states:
“This set documents the highlights of the first 27 years of Atlantic Black Music. It is also a reflection of my early career as a producer of Rhythm and Blues, in the first few years with Herb Abramson, and from many years (since 1953) with Jerry Wexler, and often with Nesuhi Ertegun.”
Each set of two discs is in a gatefold cover containing liner notes reflecting a discussion of the artists and their music. Each disc is in pristine condition: scratch-free, a wonderful luster and appear unplayed. Each record is in its original Atlantic sleeve as well. The front and back covers of the box are in very good condition, although the there is an area of about an 1 1/2 on the back cover that shows a little ring wear. There is wear on the bottom and top edges of the box from storage, and there is a wearing away of the cardboard on the corners, as well as a little bit on the corner edges of the insert gatefolds due to rubbing while stored. However, the inner covers are in otherwise excellent condition.
Here are the tracks!
