This rare LP from Atomic Rooster at their creative peak is hardly ever offered for sale in this condition.

“This album certainly is, together with Rooster's first two releases, to be considered a milestone in early 70's progressive hard rock.”

This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine Near Mint 1971 UK first pressing. The record is in ‘as new’ condition and the cover and inner sleeve are both in Excellent condition. All items are free from any major defects. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1971, not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original 1971 UK stereo LP, which was only played once or twice on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

“Probably the best progressive album ever produced by a group that no one talks about.”

In Hearing of is the third album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. Although not included on the album, "The Devil's Answer" single was released just prior to it, becoming the band's highest chart success at number 4 in the UK. This helped push the album to a number 18 UK chart placing, despite the fact that the four musicians pictured on the inside cover never played together. The backing tracks (and some vocals) were recorded by Vincent Crane, John Cann and Paul Hammond, but Cann and Hammond left the group soon after vocalist Pete French was drafted in. The finished album's sound was dominated by Crane and Hammond, with many of Cann's guitar parts either not used or placed lower in the mix.

This may be your only ONCE IN A LIFETIME chance to own this rare piece of music history in this condition.

“As many have indicated here, this is Atomic Rooster's most consistent sounding LP and an overlooked masterpiece of progressive hard rock.”

Atomic Rooster was an English progressive rock band, originally composed of former members of the The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Throughout their history, keyboardist Vincent Crane was the only constant member, and wrote the majority of their material. Their history is defined by two periods: the early-mid-1970s and the early 1980s. Their genre in music is difficult to define, since they went through radical changes in very short times during the life of the band. However, their best-known era represented a more hard rock/progressive rock sound, exemplified by their only hit singles, "Tomorrow Night" (UK No.11) and "The Devil's Answer" (UK No.4), both in 1971.
