Description

s/t LP - LINCOLN MAYORGA & DISTINGUISHED COLLEAGUES (Sheffield S9)

Original 1971 U.S. stereo DIRECT TO DISC LP. 10 tracks, including: "Grand Boulevard," "Good Vibrations," "I'll Be Back" (Lennon/McCartney), "Mercy, Mercy," "She's Leaving Home" (also Lennon/McCartney, of course), more. Here 'tis, the legendary granddaddy of them all - the dawn of the direct-to-disc, audiophile recordings, featuring MAYORGA on keyboards & a crew of stellar musicians, including PLAS (or PLAZ, as it's spelled on the cover) JOHNSON on tenor sax, LARRY KNECHTEL on bass & JIM GORDON on drums, amongst other name players. Limited pressing of 1,000 copies (so I've read), here's an ULTRA-CLEAN copy of this groundbreaking release that sounds AMAZING, plays PERFECTLY- doubtful that this has been played even a handful of times in it's 40+ years of existence. Definitely a 'must have' for any/every audiophile fan/collector. (This LP, & the other audiophile albums that I have listed now all came from the same collection & they were all obtained new by the previous owner back in the day.)

Disc = Looks EX to EX+ (just some very faint hairlines, NOT AFFECTING PLAY, probably just from being slipped in & out of the inner paper sleeve), but PLAYS MUCH BETTER - SOUNDS FANTASTIC, PLAYS FLAWLESSLY. NO background noise (even between tracks or in the quiet sections, of which there are many), NO pops or clicks, NO distortion, etc)

Cover = front - slight ring/general wear, light wear along left & right edges, small crunch in both lower corners, slight wear in all corners, small price sticker in upper right corner (may be removeable) / back - slight ring/general wear, small crunch in lower left corner, lite diagonal crease in paper in lower left corner, slight wear along right spine edge / edges & spine - just barely the beginning of a seam split in upper right corner, slight bottom edge wear, some curling & cracking on spine

Labels = A-1, w/ NO spindle marks to be found

Long-time vinyl fiend here. Grading is very strict & satisfaction is guaranteed, bid/buy with confidence. All non-sealed vinyl has been cleaned, all records are graded both aurally and visually. I use NEAR MINT- to NEAR MINT (my highest grade)/EX/VG, w/ +/- variables. Yes, I combine shipping.  No excessive shipping or 'handling' charges - buyer will pay approximately what the USPS charges me for shipping, give or take a bit. If I overcharge you excessively for shipping, you will be reimbursed the overage.
