AUCTION SPECIFICS AND CONDITION:
A WORD ABOUT PRICE RESERVES:
A reserve is as much of a price tease as it is protection for the seller. You must know a butcher this special would have a fairly high reserve, so I will just put the starting price at the reserve on this one. It has become prohibitively expensive to a "reserve price" on most items on Ebay. I don't usually do this, but I think you will understand once you read the auction and realize this is not like any other offered on Ebay now or recently. You cannot go wrong and have my money back guarantee if not statisfied.
THE COVER:
Being offered here is my prized NM- and very rare Jacksonville re-pasting of an original Los Angeles #6 Beatles Yesterday and Today Butcher Cover. I know this is a rare Jacksonville, IL plant re-pasting of an LA cover for a couple of reasons. First off, there are no concentric circles on the mouth's edge that would be present if this were a Los Angeles re-pasting. The Jacksonville plant did not use the same re-pasting process as LA, thus none of the rings you usually see on an LA re-paste are present underneath the trunk cover ( I can tell with my well-trained eye.)
Once it was determined by the Capitol execs that destroying the butcher covers was stupid, they embarked on re-pasting as many butchers as fast as they could with the now familiar trunk cover. To satisfy the demand for the new release in the Midwest, and to save money, we know the LA plant sent several hundred #6 butchers to the Jacksonville plant to be recovered with the common trunk cover. These covers were sent without records, and once re-pasted, a Jacksonville vinyl pressing of the title, and a Jacksonville inner sleeve, was inserted in the LA cover and sold. This is one of those VERY RARE combinations.
There are also #4 Jacksonville re-pastings of their own plant's butcher covers, but #6 re-pastings are very difficult to come across. They are all but impossible to find in this condition. It is an all-but- perfect cover. Not a crack, split,, or blemish anywhere. If memory serves me correctly, this cover did have about 2/3's of the original shrink on it. I cannot say for sure though as it has been years since I acquired it and the shrink has been lost. The only critique that an absolute purist might make is the spine printing is somewhat facing up on the cover. It is not obtrusive though at all! That is due to the re-pasting process used on LA covers which tips you off this a Jacksonville/LA #6. It also has just the absolute slightest hint of having been in human hands. I personally would never pass up this fine example in this condition if I were collecting all the versions of this cover. It is just that rare to find one like this.
My original intentions were to have this peeled as I already had the same example in full shrink wrap. I have since sold that several years ago. My most recent intentions were to frame this with my personal collection's perfectly peeled Jacksonville #6 re-repasted cover that is the best peel job I have ever had in all the years of doing this.
If you want a supreme world-class 2nd state butcher cover - well - then you have found it. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed!
The LP is a Jacksonville pressing that is full gloss VG+ to VG++ with NM- labels. The inner sleeve is in great shape too.
The major reason I am parting with this is to help with medical bills, otherwise I would probably go through with having this framed and keep it in my collection.
Why Buy From Us? We specialize in Beatles Butcher Covers!
WE ARE PROUD TO SAY -
We are also honored to say that one of our Beatles Butcher Covers has been placed on display in Liverpool, England – YES! THE HOMETOWN OF THE BEATLES! - at the world renown BEATLES STORY MUSEUM.
AND A COUPLE OF OTHER THOUGHTS–
We have many years of experience with restoring Beatles butcher covers, and we do not purchase for peel every second state butcher cover we come across. Not all butcher covers will peel well, and over the years we have learned many of the trade secrets of finding the right ones the hard way. We know what to look for in a prime butcher cover-candidate for peel. Over the last two decades, OneManBand Records has probably sold more butchers on Ebay than anyone else. The number is in the hundreds, and our customers are always thrilled with the butchers they receive. I invite you to check out our feedback. Your unconditional satisfaction is always guaranteed! We offer superior quality that is second to none!

A VERY SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL:
I want to take this opportunity thank all of you out there who have wished me well over the last 12-16 months. If you are truly serious about a butcher cover, you may notice in my feedback that I have not had any sales in over a year. I have been battling that dreaded disease I refuse to call by name and was just not well enough to do my beloved record thing.
I am so happy to tell everyone that new genetic research has saved my life, as well as a renewed faith in the grace and love our Creator who has blessed me beyond belief. What was once a 6 month diagnosis is now a thing of the past and I am healthy as a horse (but my name isn't Harry!).
I am thrilled to be back and have a storage room full of delightful goodies that I am putting out for auction. This is just the first cannon shot of many things to come. I love doing record shows and all the exciting things involved with "Chasing Classic Vinyl" and collectables.
I have made more lasting friendships in the record and memorabilia business than all of the other things I have done in life combined - and I have had some amazing opportunities. Once again, thanks to all those who have been there for me.
