Description
This is a lovely example of a UK stereo pressing of the first album by a great british band called The Trinity, fronted by the legendary organist, Brian Auger and vocalist, Julie Driscoll. It's entitled 'Open' and was released in 1967 on the Marmalade Records label. The catalogue number is 608002. The music has a very psychedelic feel to it with jazz and rhythm and blues influences. This album will appeal to collectors of jazz, progressive, psychedelic, rhythm and blues and rock music.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve shows very minor ring wear on the front and back. There is a minor sticker tear (10mm x 8mm) on the front top right hand corner of the outer sleeve. The top and bottom edges show some minor wear and the spine is in fine condition with the wording along the spine being 100% readable. The rear of the outer sleeve is printed upside down. I don't know if this was done deliberately or whether it was a mistake. It states on the bottom left rear of the sleeve - 'Recorded at CHAPPELL'S STUDIO, LONDON, ENGLAND - Engineer : JOHN TIMPERLY - Arrangements by RICHARD HILL and BRIAN AUGER - Produced by GIORGIO GOMELSKY - Sleeve design PARAGON PUBLICITY. I've graded the sleeve Ex-.
INNER SLEEVE - This is a plain white diecut paper type with a clear plastic inner bag. There is some blue wording on one side warning about the danger to children of plastic bags. It states on the same side - 'British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - MADE IN ENGLAND 0270 6'. I've graded the inner sleeve as Ex.
RECORD - This has been well played and there are some minor surface marks on both sides which result in some surface noise at times. This can be heard in between tracks. There are occasional pops and clicks but there are definitely no jumps or skips on either side. The labels which are white, orange and purple with black wording feature the MARMALADE logo and are in fine condition. There are some very minor spindle marks. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 608002 A//2 1 2 1 - side two - 608002 BV1 1 1. I have graded the record as Ex-- and believe that this is very fair.
