BABY FACE WILLETTE “Stop And Listen” Blue Note RVG, P, BLP 4084 mono Vinyl
This is 1961, “RVG” stamped, “P” pressing of BABY FACE WILLETTE’s “Stop And Listen” on the "New York USA” labels of Blue Note BLP 4084. Musicians include Baby Face Willette – organ, Grant Green – guitar, Ben Dixon – drums.
VINYL plays with consistent low-level to medium-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, very powerful organ extension and full tone. Occasional guitar and organ distortion present. NO skips. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, 2 or 3 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels show aging and spindle marks. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.
COVER is in good shape. Shows normal wear, corners worn. Beautiful colors. Seams and spine in good shape, 1” split in middle of spine and seams. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket is clean with normal aging, minor staining. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
