Description

I recently had the good fortune to buy a big collection of those rather limited early 80's Garage Punk & Psychedelic compilations LPs from a trusted collector who bought these all at the time....(ummm...from a shop I owned back then, in fact....ah, the cycle of time works in wonderful ways sometimes).

Anyway, this is one of them.

ARTIST:      VARIOUS ARTISTS -
TITLE:          "BACK FROM THE GRAVE, VOL.1" .

SUB-TITLE:      "17 ROCKIN' 1966 PUNKERS!" .
FORMAT:     …vinyl LP…
LABEL:         Crypt .
CAT. #:          CRYPT RR-66  .
DATE OF RELEASE:   1983 .
PRESSED IN:    USA .
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?   Yes...first pressing with bonus extra track...NOT on second pressing...it's supposedly the Lyres(!)...second press had different catalogue number...

QUANTITY PRESSED (if known):    .

TRACKS: Side 1 1. One Way Streets - We All Love Peanut Butter 2. The Alarm Clocks - Yeah 3. The Alarm Clocks - No Reason To Complain 4. The Fabs - That's The Bag I'm In 5. The JuJus - Do You Understand Me 6. The Malibu's - Cry 7. Legends - I'll Come Again 8. The Bel-Aires - Ya Ha Be Be
Side 2 1. Larry & The Blue Notes - Night Of The Phantom 2. The Rats - The Rats Revenge (Part 1) 3. The Rats - The Rats Revenge (Part 2) 4. One Way Streets - Jack The Ripper 5. Swamp Rats - Psycho 6. The Cords - Ghost Power 7. The Elite - My Confusion 8. Thee Liars - The Witch
This is a review of both Vols. 1 & 2...but it's by Mike Stax so you know you gotta listen:
These two albums contain the total essence of ugly garage noise that will drain your spinal fluids up

through the top of your very skull!

Hear monstrous fuzz classicks like the JuJus' "Do You Understand Me," with fuzz bass death on stun,

Larry & the Bluenotes' scary "Night Of the Phantom," and garage gods the Unrelated Segments, with

the mindblowing "Cry, Cry, Cry." From the nethermost depths of teen trash hell hear the Rats, down

in the sewers of Ohio, with "The Rats' Revenge, Pts. 1&2," and New Jersey surf sounds from Ralph

Nielson and the Chancellors with "Scream" - insane! Not to mention the cryptic chills of "Ya Ha Be

Be" by the Bel-Aires, and the deranged fuzz nightmare that is the Swamp Rats! Also hear Chris Gaylord

sneer "They Can't Hurt Me," by San Diego's legendary Lyrics!

Both volumes are essential listening, every track is great, you need these records in your life,

believe me.
