Description
Artist: Wilhelm Backhaus
Performance: BACH, English Suite no 6, French Suite no 5, Preludes & Fugues BWV 860 & 884
Label : Decca UK SXL 2205 orginal recording at ten, made in England at six, WB, GR matrix ZAL-3444-2M / ZAL-3445-1M. Release date according the note on the backcover is April 1960
Condition record: there are a few superficial marks visable under a bright light, some large markings on the vinyl on both sides caused by the plastic of the innersleeve, pressed to long against the vinyl. The record plays remarkably fine, absolutely excellent, with some soft backgroundnoise sometimes , a few pops, but I did not hear any clicks or really disturbing sounds.
Condition sleeve: very good / excellent, some creasing, some discolouring at the back,one cm tear at openingedge og the back, and a neat shopsticker. NO writings or seamsplits.
Additional info: The rarest Backhaus SXL release, recorded in October 1956 in the Victoria Hall in Geneva his first stereo Bach recording.
