Bakerloo : Bakerloo A-3U / B-3U 1st Press 1969 No EMI Logo
This classic first pressing on the EMI Harvest label plays with stunning quality for the vast majority and only on the opening section of 'This Worried Feeling' on S2 is there a little interference.  Aside from that the clarity, depth and power of the audio is first class and S1 in particular is superb!  The definition / depth of the audio especially is so impressive - the sound is so full and deep.  There is no underlying static either and the overall playback is very clean indeed.  Visually the vinyl is in great shape with just one hairline 'scuff' on S2.
The gatefold is in very good to excellent condition with only a little shelf wear and the inner sleeve just has a small split on the bottom edge.
This is a first press variation as there was an A2/B2 matrix just before this one.  There is still no EMI logo on the labels and this edition has a very early single 'R' stamper on each side.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a lovely glossy sheen with no actual scratches.  There are only a small number of faint hairlines and the only obvious mark is a hairline 'scuff' on the first track of S2.  The yellow / green Harvest labels are unmarked and do not have too much spindle wear.
Play grading
'Big Bear Ffolly' plays with imperious quality from the get go.  The clarity and depth of the audio is stunning and this high end standard does not drop as it progresses.  The audio is so rich and deep and there is just nothing that detracts from the 'listen'.  Clempson's guitar is the star of the show but Poole's bass adds so much to the sonic quality as does Baker's percussion.  Not a bad set of musicians!   A sublime Mint start to this classic album.
The intro on 'Bring It On Home' is faultless and the opening vocal has no intrusion either.  It continues in the same way and there is no interference.  No ticks, clicks, pops and no background static.  The playback is so clean and that can only be because the vinyl has hardly been played.  A little different to the Led Zepp version that I usually play and it certainly has a very distinctive blues rock vibe that you would expect from this short-lived band.  Immense bass once more!  The fade out just has a couple of mega light static ticks right at the end so I will grade as Mint accordingly.
The instrumental 'Drivin' Backwards' plays with exceptional audio from the first note to the last with no interference.  No background on the long final note either.  Another Mint track.
The quiet intro on 'Last Blues' plays so clearly with barely any static and Poole's opening is close to perfect with only a couple of minor ticks.  The next vocal is equally as good and then the build up into the instrumental is flawless.  This section then plays with phenomenal quality and 'as new' is a correct description.  It's one of those 'turn it up to max' moments so as to appreciate the stunning sonic quality on offer here!  The final quiet section plays with great clarity again with no intrusive background.  A handful of light ticks that is all.  I am sure many would grade as Mint but I will say Near Mint just to be on the safe side.  A stunning version though.
'Gang Bang' ends the side with STUNNING audio!  Every section plays to the highest standard possible with no background of any kind, not even a dust tick.  Baker's percussion in particular is incredible!  Mint
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The quiet bluesy intro on 'This Worried Feeling' has a couple of light static ticks at the start and then a few ticks / light clicks just before the vocal comes in and for 5/6 seconds into it.  However, the clicks are not loud and there is no background static.  This first vocal has 4 static ticks after 1.30 minutes and it then plays with stunning quality from then onwards.  Clempson's work is 'as new' and his final vocal is of the same standard.  I will grade the opening section as VG+ and the rest as Mint- the audio is very impressive for the vast majority.
The 'heavy' intro 'Son Of Moonshine' is STUNNING, so deep and strong, and as Baker joins in the playback is just as good.  Poole's first vocal is perfect and Clempson's long solo could not play any better the playback is incredible!  The depth and warmth of the audio is comparable to how it would have sounded the day it was pressed I can pay it no higher compliment.  The quiet bass section around 8.30 minutes plays beautifully with no interference and as it builds the sonic quality does not decrease in any shape or form.  The following vocal is faultless and the next super quiet section has only a couple of barely audible dust ticks.  The high octane section then plays with incredible power and depth - this section is amazing - and the remainder plays with the same quality.  This truly is a fantastic version and Mint- is very much deserved.
In summary this first pressing plays to a wonderful for the vast majority with only a little interference during the first track on S2.  The rest of the audio Mint / Mint- for sure with a clarity, depth and power that can only be described 'as new'.  This is of course a very collectable album and aside from that one brief passage I am sure the winning bidder will be very impressed with the audio.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The laminated E.J. Day cover is in very good / excellent condition with only a little shelf wear and there is nothing that stands out.  The top edges have only very light marking and the bottom edges are very clean with only a couple of minor rubs.  The spine is in great shape with only a little wear on the corners and the right hand corners have hardly any wear.  The opening edge has only minimal handling wear and the front cover is very clean with only a couple of small areas of creasing / marking that you only really notice when you 'feel' them to the touch.  Some light marking around the edges also which is common.  The back cover is in excellent order with only minimal light marking around the edges and a couple of minor corner creases and the inside of the gatefold is in great condition with only a handful of minor specks and a little creasing at the foot of the inner spine.
I'm not sure if this is the original inner but it is in excellent shape with only one small but clean split on the bottom edge and one tiny 'nick' on the top edge.  There is no marking and barely any creasing.
