AI SAYS:

The photos show Bakerloo’s self-titled LP, issued in the UK on Harvest in 1969 (SHVL 762). The SHVL 762 A-2 / B-2 matrices, green Harvest labels without an EMI logo, and laminated gatefold sleeve are consistent with an original UK pressing.

It is the band’s only studio album: Dave “Clem” Clempson on guitar and vocals, Terry Poole on bass and Keith Baker on drums. Dave Clempson is also credited as producer on the sleeve. Its heavy blues rock sound has progressive elements.

Side one Side two Big Bear Ffolly This Worried Feeling Bring It On Home Son of Moonshine Drivin’ Bachwards Last Blues Gang Bang

The track listing matches the documented UK pressing.

Value: I would provisionally put the photographed copy at about £150–£250 in a private sale, assuming it plays well throughout. The gatefold has visible wear and creasing around the fold; the photos cannot establish whether the record has audible marks. For comparison, A-2/B-2 copies graded EX+/EX and EX+/EX+ made £220 and £300 hammer price at Omega Auctions. A dealer currently asks £439 for a play-tested VG+/VG+ copy, but that is an asking price, not a confirmed sale.

A careful play test, especially of any visible marks, would narrow the estimate considerably.

PLAY TEST:
I have owned this album from new, when it first appeared in the UK. I was 15 years old. I have hundreds of subsequent LPs which I did not lend out ,handle badly, store in a cold wet place, flat or any other way that could be detrimental to the vinyl. They have been stored upright all of their lives in a heated music room. In other words cared for.
This is such a rare and expensive album in its original release form, I am going to detail what each track sounds like. Inexplicably, for my vinyl, it's not in tip top condition. I have no idea why. Probably a faulty pressing. I have a distant memory of the album being less than mint when I bought it new all those years ago but I didn't dare go back to the shop to complain. The owner of The Record Room in St. Albans was a formidable character.
There is a scuff mark, identical, on both sides of the vinyl and it's a bit of a rough play, but certainly not through misuse. Evidence.
Luckily, mixed at such high volume that any crackles are virtually inaudible, except in the quiet parts, and there are few of them!
The asking price will reflect this.
SIDE ONE:
Track One: Crackles drowned out by the volume of the music.
Track Two: Crackles drowned out by the volume of the music.
Track Three: Crackles drowned out by the volume of the music.
Track Four: Faulty pressing audible here at the start and end. High voulme causes distortion. Rest of the track blasts out the crackles. Clemson does his first Clapton impersonation.
Track Five: Drum solo track. Cleanest of all. Lovely powerful sound.

SIDE TWO
Track One: Starts with a slow blues and there is significant scuff over the track. Not a scratch or scratches, probably dirt. No skips or sticks.
Track Two: Clemson rips off Clapton's Spoonful soloing on 'Wheels Of Fire' with some skill and unashamed abandon. So loud you can't hear the crackles until the midpoint, and then he's off again. No crackles..ripping into Cat's Squirrel. Then more crackles drowned out by the heavy trio's playing.

As you know if you are reading this, this is a VERY expensive LP if you can find a mint or near mint condition. Upwards of 500 pounds. The condition of this pressing is not mint but perfectly listenable in my opinion. Hence my asking price.

All my VINYL is described as Used/Pre Owned. Items have been visually graded as best as I can but my grading may differ from your opinion/expertise or grading system. I use the recommended grading system. I will give the album a play through before sending, unless it is a MINT item.

I list the in the description above, the condition of the artwork/sleeve and the disc/media. Photos of cover and disc are for your use to determine condition.

My items are inspected before departure and nothing leaves unless I am happy with it.

I will endeavour to post as soon as possible after I receive the order and I will remain in contact with you throughout the process so that you know when the order is on the way.

It will also come in a protective plastic sleeve and the album itself will be in an inner sleeve designed to protect the vinyl. All items will be packed in protective envelopes for the journey.

I hope you enjoy your purchase. Once again thanks for your custom.
