BAKERLOO - Bakerloo ORIG Harvest LP SHVL 762 (UK, Stereo, 1969)

Happy to present the classic original Harvest press of Clem Clempson’s first project before he joined Colosseum and later, Humble Pie. There’s some immense guitar work on this LP, one of the reasons it has become a much sought after part of any British progressive, blues or Harvest collection. Matrices : A 2-U / B 2-U

BAKERLOO: same (1969 uk Harvest SHVL 762 stamped matrix SHVL 762 A/B 3U).

Original copy of this classic heavy UK progressive album. Features the inimitable Dave "Clem" Clempson, later of Colosseum and Humble Pie, on impressive leadguitar. Long blues-based tracks, especially the 15 minutes of Son Of Moonshine are a standout, typical late sixties LP from the UK underground.

Originals of this record hardly ever turn up anymore, so this is a rare chance to get a nice copy!!!!

The outer laminated original gatefold sleeve, made by Ernest J. Day is the strongest example I’ve yet seen and lies wonderfully flat with no dishing, rippling or warping. There are no heavy creases at all, just some fine small ones from the spine and opening edges (you’ve gotta look close to notice these). NO damage to the spine - text fully legible, top edges superb with no splits. Corners still very pleasing with little softening and no real discernible ring impression. Opening edges are close to full sharpness, showing this record has been in and out of this great sleeve very few times indeed! No writing, stickers or loss of colour. The inner gate is very crisp.  Graded a true and genuine full EX (Excellent) and maybe higher to some eyes.

The lime green Harvest labels are without the EMI box logo and are in superb shape with NO writing, stickers, residue, dirt or mould. One or two spindle trails to Side 1 only and NONE AT ALL TO SIDE 2! Fantastically fresh pair of these vintage labels!!!! It is hard to find this album, but finding it LIKE THIS will be virtually IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

The medium weight vinyl is the best I have come across for this rare LP. (I have seen half a dozen or so in twenty years)Visually it looks lovely - side 1 is completely blemish free, while side 2 shows just 1 very light hairline and one careless but isolated, very small, virtually unnoticeable nick to the first track. BUT THAT’S IT COSMETICALLY!! There’s no scuffs, no big scratches, no embedded dirt, no dust pockets and it maintains close to full shine! It’s obvious that this has only been played a few times and playback confirms you are dealing with a way above average example, one which easily grades a confident EX (Excellent). IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays with silent run-ins and track divides!  The quiet sections sound great with no real crackle at all!! There are NO jumps, loud pops, hiss, distortion or loss of clarity. This will surely please most serious collectors - BOTH AESTHETICALLY AND AURALLY!! Looks great, sounds great and like I say must rank well above most surviving copies of this rare early Harvest title.

Without a shadow of a doubt one of the best condition highly collectable albums I have come across in the last year!!!! This album is conservatively graded as EX!!!!!

The audio is breathtakingly sublime!!!! No wonder this album is SO VERY SOUGHT AFTER!!!! Pure quality musicianship and it is hard to imagine Bakerloo did not go on to greater success like Led Zeppelin or Uriah Heep and Deep Purple. This album in this fantastic condition rarely comes up for sale and in my opinion it will be IMPOSSIBLE to better this. As such it is the ultimate KEEPER/VAULT copy and a mighty good investment!!!

This beautiful glossy slab of vinyl is pure quality!!!!! The vinyl looks FANTASTIC and I played it all the way through, it sounds STUNNING !!!! Re-issues do just not measure up to the depth of the sound. This is just awesome!!! NO jumps, NO pops and NO skips. NO background crackle!!!! This album is playgraded on a Linn Sondek/ Rotel/ B&W set-up. The audio is simply MINDBLOWING!!!! It would be a very tough task to still upgrade from this copy. It has to be the very best one available!!!!

The beautiful gatefold sleeve is iconic for the "GOLDEN" prog/psych period of 1967-1973. The condition of the sleeve is again OUTSTANDING!!!! It will be hard to better this ever. NO CREASES AT ALL!!!!  No creases, tiny miniscule edge "bumps".

Labels are NM without any spindle mark!!! SENSATIONAL!!!
