Description

This is without question the best looking and best playing copy of Bakerloo I have ever seen. With Excellent Plus vinyl, labels and cover it would be extremely hard to ever locate a better copy. Many would maybe even give it a mint minus grade but I will stick with Ex+ to be realistic.

Bakerloo is a genuine treasure. Not just because it is a scarce Harvest progressive album, but also becauseof the superb music it contains. There are rarer Harvests out there, but none that comes anywhere near the brilliant musicianship of Bakerloo.

                                                                          Record

The record comfortably grades Excellent Plus. It is beautifully glossy. There are no blemishes  visible in normal light and only a few light

handling hairlines can be seen under strong light. A magnificent looking harvest original!

Labels

The labels are  graded Excellent Plus. There are no unwanted marks, and no writing. Being ultra critical there are one or two very small age related spots that you can see if you view in bright sunlight. That is being very fussy however.

I could see only two to three extremely light spindle lines close to the spindle hole. The spindle hole itself has no wear.

Cover

The E J Day laminated gatefold cover is graded Excellent Plus. The only blemish to mention is a light half moon crease on the front which does not detract in any way from the startling cover design. There is no writing, staining, rips or tears and no ringwear. All edges including the spine are perfectly straight with no splits or rub wear of any kind. The cover design which extends from front to back is one of the most memorable of any sixties albums! Simply amazing.

Front Cover

The stunningly designed front is fully laminated and spotlessly clean, with just the light half moon crease to the upper right edge to mention.

Back Cover

The back cover is fully laminated and again spotlessly clean. There are absolutely no faults to mention to detract from the cover artwork. There is no creasing, tears, marks or ringwear.

Gatefold Inner

The inner gatefold has a beautiful clean appearance with  no loss of its original whiteness. There is  no ringwear, rips or writing.

Spine Edge

The spine displays the album title and is perfectly straight with clear text and no rubbing or splits.

Record Entry Edge

Thr record entry edge is to the right, and is straight with no wear at all, and with no splits or feathering.

Top and Bottom Edges

Both edges are perfectly straight with no splits or wear at all.

Corners

All corners are nice and square with only very minor rounding to the two spine corners.

Sound Quality

I have play graded the album entirely and it plays with fantastic audio quality. There are no skips or jumps. There is no audio distortion, no pops, hiss or unwanted sounds. I heard faint rumble on one or two of the linking grooves and on the quiet intro to This Worried Feeling but this is way way down. Just the sound of stylus on vinyl. Altogether a superb playing album!

Overall

A fantastic album in superb condition with very very little to fault. Copies of Bakerloo at this grade do not appear that often, so it could be a long wait to find a better one than this. There may be a mint one somewhere that may appear one day, but this one is definitely one to keep and should  please all collectors!

SIDE ONE : Big Bear FFolly, Bring It On Home, Driving Bachwards, Last Blues, Gang Bang

SIDE TWO : This Worried Feeling, Son Of Moonshine

Bakerloo are Dave “Clem “ Clempson on guitar, Terry Poole on bass, and Keith Baker on drums. The album was produced by Gus Dudgeon.

The grading system I use is from Record Collector:- Mint, Excellent, Very Good with +/- to distinguish borderline grades.

I treat all vinyl with the greatest respect whether  £5 or £50, so all records are sent out with plastic covers in professional mailers and two protective stiffeners. I do not post records inside their covers or original inner sleeves to prevent seam splits occurring during shipping.
