The single does have some very slight damage. If it were not for this, the grade would have been an Excellent or Excellent plus.
It appears that there has been something like a couple of small spots of maybe paint on the record. They are very small indeed but I have tried to remove them with record cleaning liquids and a little alcohol and they have reduced slightly, but not cleaned off.
So how does this affect the record?
Actually only very slightly.
The A side, I Got A Feeling ,which is a stellar Motown and Northern Soul song, plays to an Excellent standard, apart from 3 or 4 "pops" at the very beginning of the song where the mark is situated. Outside of these pops, the song plays perfectly.
The B Side, You Got Me Hurtin' All Over, is pretty much the same but the mark is a little further into the record, and there are about 5 or 6 "pops".
The song again plays beautifully apart from these pops over the mark.
I am pretty sure it must have been paint. I would never use solvent or acetate on vinyl so I decided to sell the record as it is.
I have reduced the grade to VG+ overall as a wise precaution. This is SUCH a shame as it is a rare single.
Please do ensure you have read and are happy with my description before bidding
The record comes in a Tamla Motown ochre and white company sleeve, which is a new repro Motown sleeve.
These are totally Great tunes ! I Got A Feeling is still very much in demand at All Nighters and Soul Weekenders
Please ask any questions that you might have before bidding, if you need assistance. Grading
I use the Rare Record Guide matrix as a guideline but also prefer to listen to the vinyl where possible and visually grade the condition.
