Description
"This is London" is a superb album devised by BBC External Services to celebrate 50 years of external broadcasting to the world.
Narrated by Leo McKern this wonderful LP contains 66 tracks and includes everything from The Wedding of Price Charles and the 1966 WOrld Cup final to wartime broadcasts by Churchill the annoucement of D Day and VE Day together with exceprts from comedy shows such as ITMA, Hancock's Half Hour and The Goon Show.
The record and its sleve are in great conditionand absolutely packed with clips and programme excerpts from everything imaginable. This collection was issued in 1982 and is now quite hard to find.
If you are interested in teh history of broadcasting and some of the key events in modern history, or just want to listen again to clips from some of radio's classic programmes, this LP is for you. Your collection is incomplete without it!
