Description
COVER : VERY GOOD +, these sleeves can come in single or gatefold sleeve. This one is a single. All these sleeves can have some ring marks, stains, writing on them, small tears, staple marks, foxing, coffee stains etc. Hopefully, not all have these things together though. This is a generalization over all of the defects they may have.
LABELS : EXCELLENT, a few spindle traces.
PHOTOS FORM PART OF DESCRIPTION
VINYL : EXCELLENT, a few very light sleeve scuffs, plays with some static at intros and some soft clicks in quieter parts. THESE LPS HAVE BEEN SITTING IN A CUPBOARD FOR 40 ODD YEARS, WITH DUST GETTING INTO THE SLEEVES AND INTO THE GROOVES. I HAVE CLEANED AND PLAYED EACH LP AND MY GRADING IS BASED ON LISTENING AS WELL AS VISUAL. SO PLEASE DON'T BID IF YOU DON'T LIKE SOME STATIC, CRACKLE OR THE OCCASIONAL POPS/CLICKS, BECAUSE MOST OF THE BBC TRANSCRIPTION LPS I WILL PUT UP FOR AUCTION DO PLAY WITH STATIC AND SOME CRACKLE AND THE OCCASIONAL POPS/CLICKS WHICH WILL VARY WITH EACH LP. BEWARE OF BLACK/WHITE LABEL BOOTLEG / COUNTERFEITS. UK pressing on the BBC TRANSCRIPTION label, cat. no. 554 RECORDS MADE FOR THE RADIO STATIONS AIRPLAY ONLY. THEY WERE SENT TO ALL COMMONWEALTH COUNTRIES, BBC, ABC (OR SIMILAR) RADIO BROADCASTERS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. THEY WERE NOT MADE IN BIG NUMBERS AND DEFINITELY NOT MADE FOR PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION. MAYBE 50 - 100 OR SO IN THE WORLD. WHAT MAKES THEM EXTREMELY DESIRABLE TO COLLECTORS IS THE FACT THAT A LOT OF THE RECORDINGS ON THE BBC TRANSCRIPTION ALBUMS ARE SONGS THE ARTISTS DID LIVE IN THE BBC STUDIOS AND ONLY FOR THAT PARTICULAR DISC AND THAT TIME ONLY, TRUE ONE OFF'S, SO THEY ARE UNHEARD GEMS THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE WILL GET AROUND TO LISTEN TO. THIS MAKES THEM VERY RARE AND WORTH HAVING, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE INTO. VERY RARELY COME UP FOR SALE, SO NOT MANY AVAILABLE TO BUY THESE DAYS. THEY ARE ALSO WELL KNOWN FOR THEIR GREAT SOUND QUALITY. GRADES BELOW CAN HAVE A + UPGRADE TO THEM IF NEEDED Near Mint: The vinyl appears mint in normal indoor light. If there is a defect, it should be very hard to see in normal indoor light. A few small very minor and hard to see sleeve scuffs may appear on the vinyl under a good light source. Cover or sleeve might have couple of small defects such as small very light foxing spots, a few small very light crease marks etc. Labels may have a couple of light spindle marks. It will play with audio clear throughout with just a couple of soft clicks here and there maybe Excellent: The vinyl can have a few very light hairlines or sleeve scuffs, some light signs of having been played, maybe some very light static at intros and breaks and a few soft clicks through out, but there will still be excellent audible quality. The cover/sleeve might have light wear very light ring marks, a few light crease/bend marks and, or very light foxing spots etc. Labels might have some light spindle marks Very good: The vinyl has been played many times, it can have more light crackle and some light pops here and there but have no major deterioration in audio quality, it could have more noticeable surface marks, hairlines and sleeve scuffs and light scratches. Labels may have spindle marks and some light wear, foxing spots, name, sticker or residue mark from sticker, but no tears. The cover could have light ring marks, some crease/bend marks, light edge/corner wear, small stains, writing, tiny splits or tears and foxing etc. There will be NO big, major seam splits or tears Good: The vinyl will have lots of scratches and deeper scuff marks over it's surface and has been played so much that the audio quality has noticeably deteriorated with more crackles and pops throughout. May skip on 1 track and vinyl may have a slight warp. Labels will display poorly with a number of different defects, tears, damage, heavy spindle wear etc. The cover and contents suffer from creasing, bend marks, heavy crease/bend marks, wear to edges/corners, bigger edge/seam splits, lots of writing, stains and foxing etc IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY GRADING PLEASE GET IN CONTACT WITH ME BEFORE LEAVING NEUTRAL OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK SO WE CAN BOTH COME TO AN AGREEMENT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY, EITHER A REFUND ON THE RECORD, OR A PARTIAL REFUND AND YOU KEEP THE RECORD THANKS FOR LOOKING
