BEA ABBOTT - The Artist: Have you ever carried a torch? Have you ever gone through the unhappy experience of a shattered romance? If you have you probably believe that you know all there is to know about "singing the blues," but until you have heard Bea Abbott, you just don't have any idea how much suffering can be put into a torch song. Bea gets right into the character of the lonely or despairing lover of each of her songs, and pours out her feelings without reserve or affectation. She may not really be so miserable and broken-hearted as she sounds--let's hope not--but she has that of a a great blues singer for making us believe that she is.
On WESTMINSTER Record WP 6078 HI-FI. The album sleeve rated VG+. The record is very glossy & clean. Due to intermittent light pips and blips, rated VERY GOOD.
