This auction has been re-listed due to a deadbeat bidder - don't miss it this time, their loss is your gain! You are bidding on what is quite simply the best copy of this seminal record that I have ever seen, let alone had the pleasure of owning!!!! I will be very reluctant to part with this very special record!!! What makes this record even more special is it's earliest T1//T2 1st Press Matrix identifying it as the Earliest 1966 UK Mono 1st Pressing. You will not find a better copy of 'Pet Sounds' by The Beach Boys - straight from the master press, it is in impossible MINT Vinyl /Ex+++ Sleeve condition!!! Comes on the 1st Press 'Rainbow' Capital label, it is almost impossible to find a UK 1st press of this record in this condition anymore!!! This is the 1966 UK Mono 1st Pressing on the 1st Press 'Rainbow' Capital label, 1st press 'EMI Ads' inner sleeve, and 1st press Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated cover!!!

This is it - Brian Wilson's minor key classic "Teenage ode to God", in most people's top 5 albums of all time, and so beautifully arranged that it can quite happily sit amongst the best music ever composed, including Beethoven, Mozart etc. Delicate, fragile and absolutely beautiful from start to finish, only truly accessible to the most deeply hurt (or loving) souls. I could write all night about why you should own this record, but I figure if you're already reading this you know the deal.  As Capitol had misgivings about the commercial appeal of Pet Sounds (they could not immediately identify any obvious 'hit singles' to keep them happy - which is absolutely absurd today when you look a the track listing...erm... 'God only Knows' anyone?) Bizarrely, the public were in agreement with the Capitol execs at the time and were pretty lukewarm to Pet Sounds on its release, and for years it remained the worst seller of all the classic BB albums. The upshot of all this is that VERY FEW copies of Pet Sounds were printed. Of those few copies printed, very few were printed in MONO, most were in a nasty fake 'electronic' stereo format, horrible. This is an original 1966 MONO version. A warmer more beautifully welcoming and human sounding copy of Pet Sounds you will not find. Exactly as Brian Wilson meant it to sound.

This LP is in immaculate condition throughout!!! The Classic  1st press 'Rainbow' KT embossed centre labels are in impossible Mint- condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!!!!   Side 1 centre label has NO spindle lines whatsoever - i is straight mint and looks never to have been played!!! The only indication that this record has EVER seen a turntable is an almost invisible spindle line on side 2. The gramophone rims containing the all important matrix's are also mint!!!

What can I say about the vinyl itself? It has NO Scratches, No scuffing, NO marks, NO Groove Wear, NO warping or blemishes of any kind at a!!! Nothing!!! This record is Blemish free save for maybe one almost invisible paper line, simply caused by removing the record from the inner sleeve. This disc looks like it came off the master press yesterday!!! It has the deep shine a newly pressed record - it is mind boggling to think that this was pressed in the year England last won the world cup!!! I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks!!! It has NO jumps, NO pops and NO hissing!!! This vinyl will knock you dead when you are lucky enough to win this auction. As well as it's visual perfection, it also feels great. You can feel the quality of this thick and chunky UK 1st pressing and weight is amazing - it weighs a ton!!I I have no hesitation whatsoever in grading this vinyl MINT- , it is as near as you will get to visual perfection. You will never find better!!!

The classic UK 1st Press laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve is also absolutely stunning!!! I was very close to giving it a Nr Mint grading too, but could not decide so opted for an EX+++ (most would grade this sleeve mint!!!) The corners are super sharp, and there is no edge or spine wear whatsoever!!! In fact I'd go so far as to say the spine is MINT, as are the edges. The laminate is also stunning, it actually glistens!!! I cannot find fault with this sleeve save for just one very small laminate crease toward the bottom of the opening edge, and that is it!!! The un-laminated 'Patents Pending' back is superb. The flipbacks are super tight and this sleeve has that stiffness you find only in records that have been handled very rarely. It goes without saying that there are not tears, writing splits etc. As you will have guessed from above, we are in a different league altogether with this record.

If you have been living on Mars for the past 40 or so years and have never heard this record- you will not find another copy that plays more pristinely than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record in this condition will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) Mono record to own in this complete and beautiful condition!!! Don't miss this one!!! This is the Original 1966 UK Mono 1st PRESSING of this much sought after LP. Needless to say, due to the price this record will fetch, insurance is highly recommended - see below. You really do not want to miss adding this pristine rarity to your collection - this record is worth pushing the boat out for!!!!

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed.
