Description

This is a fine copy of the LP by The Beach Boys entitled 'Pet Sounds' on the original UK Capitol Records label. It's a mono copy (catalogue no. T 2458) from 1966. The flipback sleeve is laminated on the front and shows some minor creasing. The rear of the sleeve shows some discolouration and there is some ballpen writing at the top left hand corner. The flipbacks are in fine condition. The edges and spine are in fine condition with minimal creasing but there is a minor split (2 inches - 50 mm) along the top. the wording along the spine is 100% readable. The rear of the sleeve features the wording 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending' at the bottom. I've graded the sleeve as VG++. The record has been well played but this doesn't detract from the overall quality of the recording. The record plays through superbly on both sides with minimal surface noise and no major pops or clicks. There are surface marks on the record but these don't affect the quality. The labels feature the black and silver labels with the multi-coloured surrounds. The words 'LONG PLAYING HIGH-FIDELITY' are printed on the label at right angles to the track listings. It also states on the label 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS. SEE PRICE LISTS'. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - T1 2458-1 - stampers - 1 OA and - side two - T2 2458-1 - stampers - 2 MG. I have graded the record VG++. This is an absolute must for serious Beach Boys and 1960's pop/beat/psych collectors.
