TOP CLASSIC IN PRESTINE MONO!

This auction is for Beach Boys - Pet Sounds - Capitol T 2458 (MONO).


PET SOUNDS was released May 16, 1966. The LP was recorded July 12, 1965; November 1, 1965 – April 13, 1966 at Western Studios, Gold Star Studios and Sunset Sound Studios. Genre: Baroque pop, psychedelic pop, pop, rock, psychedelic rock; Producer: Brian Wilson; Synopsis: When the Beach Boys unveiled their album "Pet Sounds" it was hailed as a ground breaking masterpiece from the mind of band member and producer, Brian Wilson. In the years since its release the acclaim for the album has grown considerably, with it consistently topping critics polls for the greatest album ever made. Not surprisingly, at the time of release in 1966, the general record buying public did not recognize the brilliance of the project, and the record sold poorly.


GRADING:


DISC: VG++, strictly graded! Just a couple light scuffs from handling, full gloss to playing surface. (LP purchased from original owner who played disc one time in '66 to record). Labels are beautiful also (see photos).


COVER: M-, beautiful cover! tight with perfect seams. Title centered on spine. Comes with original Capitol inner sleeve. Tough to find an original '66 mono this nice in 2013!
