Description
This is a Near Mint, original factory sealed copy of the The Beach Boys Today!
The LP is cat# DT 2269 ("Duophonic") released March 1965. This is the first pressing, which is identified by on the back cover by the Capitol factories (shown as only Scranton and Los Angeles--the Jacksonville, IL factory opened in 1966 to keep up with demand for Beatles and Beach Boys albums). The condition:
There's a 2" slit on the opening edge of shrink wrap and a small (1/4") tear in shrink at bottom left corner (allowing a slight view of the inner sleeve). The shrink wrap has a loose flap (about 3") on the front of the sleeve--none of these shrink wrap imperfections translates to defects on the cardboard cover itself, other than perhaps a slight fuzzing of one corner (very, very minor wear). Also, a portion of the original store price sticker remains--perhaps someone tried to remove it back in 1965, but the shrink wrap isn't torn here as a result.
The disc is presumed to be NM/M--obviously I haven't opened it to check, so this would be at the buyer's discretion (and risk) to do so. The album lays flat, indicating proper storage, so this is the only assessment I can make of the disc itself.
You would be hard pressed to find a cleaner copy of this classic album--Brian Wilson's brilliant precursor to Pet Sounds. This is very very close to factory fresh.
This is a rare opportunity--any Beach Boys collector would be proud to feature this in his or her collection!
