The Beatles - 'Rubber Soul' LP. PMC 1267
The Beatles 1965 1st UK mono pressing FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO of the 'Rubber Soul' LP. Released on the 3rd December 1965, this is the rare quickly withdrawn LOUD CUT version of this classic album. These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.
These very early 1st pressings known as LOUD CUT versions have a different studio mix to the standard common 1965 issue. It can be recognized by the matrix numbers ending with -1 on both sides. The vinyl contains a mix that was discontinued after a very brief pressing run and never again issued. The mix has a somewhat muddled bass, with vocals stretched thin making it sound aggressive and edgy - hence, loud. Paul's bass guitar for example is very much pronounced on virtually ever track. How this strange version managed to get by George Martin's strict production team is indeed a mystery. When it was realized it was tonally unbalanced the album was immediately pulled and withdrawn from sale.
Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label. Both vinyl labels feature the 'Sold in the UK....' text and have 'The Gramophone Co Ltd....' rim print. The 'KT' tax code is embossed on the side 2 label along with the FACTORY SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE sticker. This comes FULLY complete with the original and correct 'Emitex' inner sleeve and 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover.

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+ condition. Both sides of the vinyl have been play tested with NO faults. Some crackle between tracks.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT- condition.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition. Small rip on the back opening edge towards the bottom (see pictures).
The inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT- condition. No damage just some light creasing.
