Beatles Investment Grade Butcher Cover Package
***** Great seller, great item - it pays to trust the expert *****
Up for auction is an Investment Grade Butcher Cover package that comes complete with the vinyl record, inner sleeve, COA and more.
This incredible, super nice 1966 jacket was professionally peeled by TheButcherCover and the trunk slick is also in nice framable condition. These rarely show up in this condition because most Butcher Covers are improperly peeled in a foolish attempt to try and preserve the trunk slick when in fact, the trunk slick cannot be preserved without looking like crap and causing subsequent corresponding damage to the Butcher Slick. The overall condition of this jacket, removed trunk and Butcher slick is very nice indeed. Please read the entire detailed description of this gorgeous peel below.
Take a look around and look closely and compare the quality of the peels being offered on completed auctions. The quality of this piece exceeds those peels as this was performed at a higher level of skill. Please check our feedback for prior Butcher Cover sales as we've sold many high quality 3rd states over the last 20 years. Window shade and Stereo Peels performed by TheButcherCover sold in the past few months ago for over $3k each. These certified high grade Butcher Covers are legendary and consistently command top dollar on the secondary market.
This is an investment grade example due to the high quality of the peel , overall condition of the jacket and the overall quality of the package as a whole. 3rd States (Peeled) of this quality are getting harder to source. Comes with a COA from TheButcherCover as well as some free added fun extras telling about the Butcher Cover (see photos) .
The peel is equally as nice and this presents as well as nearly any jacket we have offered in the past. Look closely as most of the peels offered on the internet have noticeable damage to the Butcher slick, but not the case here. This is a gorgeous peel. Borders are nice with light aging and seams and spine are decent with minimal wear/checking or toning.
Overall, this is a solid jacket with the lightest of wear aging/toning to the back . The top seam on this is complete with no issue (see the close up photo of the seam) Bottom seam is also mostly complete with a slight 1" crack near the end that doesn't extend to the end (See the Bottom seam photo) . Also, a small balding on the very bottom tip of that seam. The spine printing is all present and the spine is mostly complete with a small chip of paper missing at the very end of the spine and some light beginning cracking here and there mostly in the area of the Catalog number (see the spine photo). Although the spine and seams are good, we don't recommend ever sliding or storing the record in and out of this jacket that is now nearly 60 years old. The seam paper is very thin and can be frail due to age. The back of the jacket is fairly clean with light tanning and very little signs of wear. (see photo of back).
Comes with an original crisp goldenrod 1966 inner sleeve in nice condition (small 2" split only on bottom seam) and a mono Scranton pressing in conservative VG+ play graded condition ( light sleeve scratches but nothing that appears to be deep or too terrible). Plays through nicely without skipping with minimal noise. Still an enjoyable play. The trunk slick is in very nice framable condition with just some light toning (see close up photo of trunk slick).
It should be emphasized that Butcher Covers of this quality and grade are highly desired by collectors and are genuinely scarce in this condition.
Payment is due within 24 hours of auction close.

This item is an original 1966 3rd State (Peeled) used example of the legendary Butcher Cover. This item is guaranteed to be authentic. Purchaser understands that this is a used item and therefore we request that that all photos be clearly examined prior to bidding. Given the fact that this item has been professionally peeled and altered from a 2nd state (unpeeled) condition to a 3rd state (peeled) example, this item has condition elements that reflect the process of treatment of the item when it was glued at the Capitol factory in 1966 as well as conditional elements from the actual peeling process. These elements generally involve mild glue lines that were made at the pressing plant when the trunk cover was pasted over but also include some minor issues from the removal and restoration process. This is not a new item but a used one that has been restored through a tedious and careful process. Item sold in "as is" condition as seen in the photos.
