The Beatles - 'A Collection Of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies !)'. PCS 7016.
The Beatles 1969 UK 2nd press STEREO 'A Collection Of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies !)' LP. Released on the 10th December 1966, this was the Beatles first greatest hits collection. A standout feature of this LP is the wonderful flip back sleeve - easily grading at EXCELLENT condition.
This LP contained 8 tracks previously on other albums, and 8 tracks on LP in the UK for the first time. Only one track 'Bad Boy' had previously been unreleased. This was the first album of The Beatles to fail to reach No.1 here in the UK. Hardly surprising as 'Revolver' was still riding high with the release of this LP.
Although I not familiar with the 1969 chart position of this UK 2nd press, I am certain it would have sold in relatively small amounts for a Beatle LP. The original 1966 issue failed to sell particularly well and this compilation as a greatest hits package was already well outdated by its release date. A rare label variation for any Beatles collector.
Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label. The labels feature 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' rim print but OMIT the 'Sold in the UK ....' text. The 'KT tax' code is also embossed on side 1, altogether dating this as a 1969 2nd pressing. The vinyl comes housed within its original pink 'EMI advertising' inner sleeve, featuring LPs such as the Beatles 'Sgt Peppers' and Pink Floyds debut LP 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn'.

Side 1: YEX 619-1G.
Side 2: YEX 620-1G.
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD condition.
Both labels are in VERY GOOD+ condition.
The cover is in EXCELLENT condition.
The inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition.
