Beatles White Label Mega Rare Promo A Hard Day's Night Soundtrack LP
You are bidding on the mega rare A Hard Day's Night white label promotional LP identified in the "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" as UA 3366.DJ1A. This is the version of the promo record that was manufactured by Columbia. While folks throw the term "mega rare" around, such is the case here and one wouldn't think so because the movie was such a success, but the truth is that this promo album just wasn't produced in any substantial amount and is very desired by collectors. The range of value is from $500 to $5000 in that book which is now 12 years old. I am only selling this because I finally got an upgrade after years of waiting for a better copy. This is one of the most desired of Beatles promotional LP's. Most of these were radio station copies and not many are in better than good condition. I would rate this somewhere in between fair and good.
This is not a top example by any stretch of the imagination, but isn't ready for the trash can either. Both sides exhibit much scuffing and dozens of scratches on each side (see closeup photos of vinyl with bright light for sample). Definitely a starter copy of this very rare record. This is a one time re-list due to a return by a buyer who either didn't read the auction text or had buyer's remorse.
This has been play graded on a Numark PT- 01 and this plays far better than it looks. The only very noticeable crackling other than a little bit at the very beginning of the record on Side One is on cut 3 (I Cry Instead). On Side Two there is some light crackling on cuts 2 through 4. The rest of Side 2 is not too bad. There are no big skips on either side. Please consider this condition before bidding on this item. There will be absolutely NO RETURNS on this item. Please note that the Beatles T-Shirt shown in some photos is not included. Jacket and inner sleeve as shown in photos will be included in this auction.
