Description

THE BEATLES - ABBEY ROAD
Lovely copy of this 1969 UK 1st press Beatles classic with impressive audio throughout and, of course, the infamous misaligned apple on the outer sleeve reverse side
Label number : PCS 7088 (UK APPLE) Matrix numbers : YEX 749-2, YEX 750-1 Stampers :  3 AR  /  5 PM
The condition of the vinyl is a solid very good plus (VG+) - many would grade as excellent, I am sure -  the vinyl has retained a lovely jet black lustre and remains flat and weighty. In normal daylight each side looks unmarked and it is only with very close inspection under a bright light that just a few small paper scuffs and extremely wispy hairlines come into view on each side - non-obvious, non-feelable and appearing to be purely superficial though there is the very occasional very light click and x5 light clicks at the beginning of "You never Give me your Money" on side 2 - nothing to spoil an overall great listen though.  Excellent (EX) condition labels with the only blemishes being some small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label indicating that the record has had a reasonable number of plays. Note the absence of "HER MAJESTY" on the side 2 label, synonymous with very early pUK pressings.  Very good plus (VG+) condition original 1st press Garrod & Lofthouse laminated (back and front) outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges, a 1st press thin and firm spine with all spine text perfectly intact, near perfectly defined right angle corners with barely any rubbing (just some very minor compression on the top right corner), firm opening edges with no fraying, no laminate lift or cardboard creasing, and all art work, colours, photos and sleeve text remaining in crisp condition with crystal clear definition still. The only blemishes are a few non-obvious laminate surface crinkles on each side of the sleeve including a slightly more obvious 11cm diagonal crinkle on the front side at the top left corner - do take a close look at my photos. Note the misaligned apple on the reverse side making this copy ever more desirable. In summary remaining highly presentable and hard to believe that this sleeve is now 57 years of age!   Overall excellent (EX) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, distortion or background crackle. You may come across the very occasional random low level click and x5 clicks at the beginning of "You Never Give Me your Money" but these blemishes are very minor and do not impinge upon what is an overall excellent listen with great tone and clarity throughout - timeless! Comes with plain white die-cut "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" inner sleeve with no splits or tears, minimal creasing and barely any age discolouration. Note that I always insert the vinyl into a poly-lined plain white sleeve in order to protect the original.     A very nice condition UK 1st press copy of this Beatles classic with overall great audio, and the "misaligned apple" outer sleeve and "HER MAJESTY" label omission making this copy ever more collectable.
POSTAGE COSTS :   For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");  for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked; and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 56 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
