Description
This is the first pressing BEATLES STEREO UK LP "ABBEY ROAD" published in 1969 with the DARK GREEN APPLE LABEL.
THIS FIRST PRESSING HAS THE DEFINING OMISSION OF THE CREDIT FOR "HER MAJESTY" ON THE SIDE-2 RECORD LABEL(and sleeve credit) AND THE MISALIGNED APPLE ON THE REAR OF THE SLEEVE.
THE HISTORY OF THIS
Paul McCartney recorded the short track "Her Majesty" when he arrived early at Abbey Road Studios and was waiting for the rest of the band to arrive. The "throw away track" was subsequently put to the end of the tape to be deleted but ended up being pressed onto the album. You can hear an extra long gap between "The End" and "Her Mjaesty". So this track was originally not listed on the credits and after a few days pressing it was decided to keep the track and put it on the credits. At the same time the sleeve was tidied up by alligning the apple logo (on the back) with the track titles.
VINYL EX. One very short mark causes one or two light clicks on "Her Majesty" - no other marks or scratches. Under strong light there are minor bag marks/hairlines but looks as photographed in normal light and plays faultless (other than mentioned). Matrix numbers are: YEX 749-A-3U (This is a very unusual matrix number and is probably a mispress - this is always YEX 789-2 on these first pressings), YEX 750-1. Sampers: Side-1 1 O, Side-2 10 RHH. first pressing (749-1 was a development press which was never released).
LABELS EX. Nice condition no "HER MAJESTY " track credit on side-2 label -- see photos.
SLEEVE EX. Misaligned Apple. Very nice high gloss - hardly any creases - razor sharp openings - nice square corners.
INNER SLEEVE EX. Plain black.
ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE OF THE ACTUAL RECORD/SLEEVE FOR SALE AND ARE A VERY GOOD REPRESENTATION.
THIS IS A CLEAN AND WELL LOOKED AFTER EXAMPLE OF AVERY POPULAR FIRST PRESSING BEATLES LP. THE SIDE-1 MATRIX NUMBER IS EITHER A MIS-PRESS OR IS MEGA RARE - I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE LIKE THIS BEFORE. VERY RARE TO FIND A COMPLETE ORIGINAL IN SUCH FANTASTIC CONDITION.
THE VINYL IS SHIPPED SEPARATE FROM THE SLEEVE AND THE WHOLE CONTENTS ARE WRAPPED IN BUBBLE WRAP AND SHIPPED IN A RE-ENFORCED CRUCIFORM BOX.THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE SHIPPING COST.
