Have you been searching and searching for an authentic and genuine butcher that features a 1966 original STEREO Capitol 3rd state (peeled) version of the legendary butcher cover that comes already archivally framed for under $800 that doesn't look like it's ready for the trash can? Look no further ! THIS IS A GENUINE STEREO BUTCHER AND NOT A REPRODUCTION ! This rare album has been placed in a thick archival mylar sleeve and then mounted and framed in an acid free mat that has a ph of 7.0  and the archival acrylic front is OP-3 grade which blocks out 98% of harmful UV rays. Don't mistake this with those cheapo frames you usually see for 10 bucks. Remember that stereo editions are at least five times as rare as mono butcher covers and rarely show up and almost never for under $800. While the Buy It Now price is slightly more, the reserve is affordable below $800. The last stereo version we sold was in similar condition and was purchased with Buy It Now as many of our butchers are. Warman's Most Current Beatles Field Guide currently lists a NM grade version at $2500.00. While we wouldn't grade this as Near Mint, it is a respectable example that will only cost you a fraction of that price. This auction does not include an inner sleeve or record.  The winning bidder will receive this item professionally packed and double boxed with all items protected in archival style protective sleeves. HISTORY AND TERMINOLOGY OF THE "BUTCHER COVER"

For those who don't know, this is the famous album that was banned by Capitol records prior to release in 1966 and then covered over with the more familiar trunk cover.The butcher scene was deemed too gruesome for the general public. As a result, Capitol destroyed a great quantity of these but eventually found it more economical to cover the offending jacket with the more familiar trunk cover.

For terminology sake: 1st state: is a copy that was never covered over with a trunk cover. They are extremely rare and were practically never sold in stores and only used as promos for radio and sales managers. 2nd state: is a butcher cover with the trunk cover pasted over. 3rd state: Is a 2nd state butcher cover that has had its trunk cover(hopefully professionally) removed.

Our reserves are the most reasonable on Ebay ! First state butchers have sold for as much as $40,000! You can own a real 3rd state butcher for a tiny fraction of that cost.These are quickly being snatched up by collectors as fast as they appear.

As you can see from the photo , this is a truly respectable example of this rare treasure.

SPECIFIC CONDITION OF THIS ITEM IS AS FOLLOWS(Please keep in mind that we are extremely strict in grading !!): The front cover, as you can see from the photos, is very respectable. Factory glue lines and residue is minimal and  touch up is nothing to cry about and confined to a few minor abrasions here and there. There is some tape staining and chipping/paper loss of the top and bottom white borders, but this is not even visible in the frame. A very displayable and framable piece and better than just about anything you'll find in this price category for a stereo version. The removed trunk slick had writing and was not suitable for framing and as a result will not be included in this auction. The album has been photographed outside of the frame for condition accuracy, but truthfully, when viewing this archivally framed, it presents nearly as well as some of the more expensive 3rd state stereos we have sold. This would look great in any home or office !

The seams and spine had splits on this piece and have been professionally re-glued to avoid any future damage. Spine writing has been worn away.We do strictly advise against attempting to place a record and inner sleeve inside the jacket as doing this may cause possible future pressure and damage to seams and 40 year old paper. The back exhibits tape stains, wear and some paper loss at very bottom, but none of this is evident in the archival frame. 

We have adjusted the reserve to a fraction of the Warman's 2005 Beatles Price Guide value of a top quality condition price of $2500.00 making this an excellent value. Sorry but this auction does not  include an inner sleeve or record..PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WE ARE BRUTALLY HONEST IN GRADING AND THE REAL PERSPECTIVE OF THIS PIECE IS HOW IT APPEARS IN THE PHOTOS.
