Description
Up for auction is this Beatles box set, I went to look these up here on eBay and I'm just getting a little confused as to what year, pressing, country of origin ETC.....so I've decided to just go through and list what the contents are; I will do my best to be complete, but please ask if anything is missed.
The outer blue box is in great shape, I'd say 9/10 with just a minimal amout of acceptable wear. Has the BC 13 with no other numbers.
1. Yellow Submarine 2C 066-04.002 / LP near mint
2. Revolver 2C 066-04.097 / LP (side 1 near mint - side 2 vg+ with a light scuff mark that might be audible in the track "tomorrow never knows")
3. With The Beatles 2C 066-04.181 / LP near mint
4. Rubber Soul 2C 066-04.115 / LP near mint
5. Abbey Road 2C 066-04.243 / LP vg+ with multiple light sleeve marks / scuffing
6. A Hard Days Night 2C 066-04.145 / LP near mint minus with just a few sleeve marks
7. Beatles for Sale (gatefold) 2C 066-04.200 / LP near mint
8. Let It Be 2C 066-04.433 / LP near mint
9. The White Album (gatefold, 2 LP) SMO 2051 & SMO 2052 / LP's near mint minus with just the slightest sleeve marks. Lyric booklet & photos included.
10. Help! 2C 066-04.257 / LP near mint minus showing the slightest of sleeve marks.
11. Rarities (gatefold) 2C 070-07.291 / LP vg+ with a couple light scuffs on both sides
12. Please Please Me 2C 066-04.219 / LP vg+ 2-3 scuffs in the tracks "ask me why" & "please please me".....rest of LP is near mint
13. SGT. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (gatefold) PMC 7027 / LP good at best, heavy scuffing as if it doesnt belong in this set. Cardboard insert included
14. 20 Golden Hits 2C 070-07.030 / LP very good + showing some light scuffing
Thats about it, a few things to consider; as you can see from my store & feedback, I have experience when it comes to grading albums. I mostly sell classical which brings a bit of a stricter scale in my opinion. If you read through the description above, you will see that there is 1 pretty trashed LP included in this box, but please dont think what I graded as VG+ = trashed. This set is not mint, but overall it will be a terrific set to own, mostly super clean sound, followed by some selections which have minimal but tolerable background noise, followed by a very few spots which are rough. Most of these LP's say made in France by Pathe Marconi, but they also say Capitol, Apple, Parlaphone, Odeon, EMI.......hence, this is why in my introduction I mentioned why I am confused.
