Description

Beatles 3rd State Peeled West Coast Mono #6 Butcher Cover
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) LA #6 Mono Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display and treasure but don't want to spend $1k or more, then this might be for you ! The opening bid on this jacket is less than half the price of some of the higher grade peels but honestly, it doesn't look like half the quality. These Los Angeles #6 jackets are known to boast more accurate and vivid colors than their east coast counterparts. Please view the photos and compare with other peels on the web in this price range. The top and bottom seams are also decent on this jacket.
While this cannot be considered close to a perfect peel, (see details below in the condition section), make no mistake about it, the overall quality of the peel is above what you normally see in this price range. These #6 jackets are much harder to come by that don't look totally wrecked.
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this are becoming harder to come by as more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts.  Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered for Capitol Records by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a most difficult to remove adhesive. These cannot be "steamed" off. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand or more bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets. Look around and compare. Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue etc, the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there that still presents nicely that won't make you completely empty your bank account. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. Please read complete description prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:

Front Peeled Butcher Slick is decent and presents well with some minor touch up to small spots but nothing even as large a pinky fingernail.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions. The item shown is exact item that you will receive and is a nice example of a west coast peel.

Seams:
Top seam is complete and unspilt. There is a teeny chip of missing paper at the very end of the top seam.  Bottom is also complete with just a 1/4" balding at the very end of the seam (please see photos of top and bottom seams). To protect the integrity what remains of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be placed into this jacket.
Spine:
Spine is decent with all spine writing legible but there is a 5" crack at the bottom half the spine that appears secure.(See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket displays nicely with only minor wear, soiling, etc. (see photo of back of jacket).
Trunk Slick:
Sorry but no trunk slick included on this one.
Record:
Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in G+ visual condition (lots of light scratches/sleeve scuffs but nothing too deep) by conservative Goldmine standards.Has not been play graded. Correct West Coast Goldenrod CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE with this record in decent condition with just  a few inches bottom splitting which is very common on these. Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $34.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please not that T- Shirt seen in background is NOT INCLUDED in this auction and is for display purposes only.
Thank You !
