Beatles Genuine 1966 Butcher Cover Professionally Peeled
This is a five day one time relist of this gorgeous genuine 1966 Butcher Cover at a great price. It is very difficult to find such a nicely peeled Butcher Cover with a solid trunk slick that was removed in one piece in framable condition for under $1200.
You are bidding on a genuine 1966 3rd State (peeled) example of arguably the most desired collectible rock record in existence. This is a complete Butcher Cover package that includes the removed trunk slick, inner sleeve and mono record . Additionally, you will receive a Certificate Of Authenticity and an additional package of cool freebies related to the Butcher Cover that you will find nowhere else.
Nearly all offerings seen on the net including ones claiming to be "mint" , show up with visible damage to the Butcher image and even sometimes bad seams and spine etc. This is not the case here !
This example showcases a gorgeous peel with a first state look. Gorgeous and vibrant colors. This presents right up there with any jacket we have offered in the past with just a few minor condition issues but still easily rates in the top 5% regarding quality of any peeled Butcher Covers offered for sale . Capitol factory pasteover glue lines are very light on this. The back of the jacket is very clean with some light tanning and the very lightest of wear..
Seams and spine are mostly solid . Top seam is solid and complete with just a one inch beginning crack near the end of the seam (but this has been secured and doesn't go all the way to the end of the seam). There is a rub/tear on the very end of the top white border near the end just past the record catalog number. Bottom seam also has a small beginning of a 1" crack (very commonly seen) near the end of the bottom seam. This doesn't go all the way to the end of the seam and seems secure. Other than that, there is only the most minor of condition issues on this example such as a little bit of checking to some portions of the spine. Spine is mostly complete with three chips of paper and missing in three small spots of the top printing on the spine . A tiny 1/4" paper chip missing at the very bottom and top of the spine. Again, these are very common condition issues on these jackets. Other than these very minute issues, this is a really nice top example. See last close up photo for gorgeous detail of the peel.
Comes with an original goldenrod 1966 inner sleeve w/condition and original Scranton mono record in VG -condition (light paper scuffs/scratches here and there. This is a visual grade not a play grade and this should play through without skips but no guarantees on that.. The trunk slick is included and in one solid piece and is a great candidate for framing. Trunk slicks in one solid piece are not all that common in the peeling field. It should be noted that the color is significantly faded on the trunk slick indicating that this jacket was exposed to UV light, possibly sunlight for an extended period of time. Could have been in a record store window.
It should be emphasized that Butcher Covers of this quality and grade are highly desired by collectors and are genuinely scarce in this condition.

This item is an original 1966 3rd State (Peeled) used example of the legendary Butcher Cover. This item is guaranteed to be authentic and not a reproduction or bootleg. Purchaser understands that this is a used item and therefore we request that that all photos be clearly examined prior to bidding. Given the fact that this item has been professionally peeled and altered from a 2nd state (unpeeled) condition to a 3rd state (peeled) example, this item has condition elements that reflect the process of treatment of the item when it was glued at the Capitol factory in 1966 as well as conditional elements from the actual peeling process. These elements generally involve mild glue lines that were made at the pressing plant when the trunk cover was pasted over but also include some minor issues from the removal process. This is not a new item but a used one that has been restored through a tedious and careful process. If you have any questions regarding condition, please feel free to contact us prior to bidding.
We have been restoring and selling genuine Beatles Butcher Covers for over three decades and our customers range from well known celebrities and galleries to the everyday collector. We have contributed to television/radio shows, collectible books and have displays in many of the best record guide books including "The Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" By Perry Cox and Frank Daniels. We are one of the only sellers on Ebay that can say that they are the direct source of their genuine Butcher Covers. In other words, we don't send our Butcher Covers out to others who provide peeling services but actually supervise all work that is performed on the Butcher Covers that we sell. Our COA reflects not only the authenticity of the item but the actual chain of custody regarding the 2nd state cover and the peeling process.
We offer professional packing and you will receive all items packed in archival quality crystal clear resealable sleeves.
Thanks and Good Luck !
