BEATLES BUTCHER COVER 3RD STATE #3 PEELED FROM SHRINK
Beatles 1966 Genuine Peeled From Shrink #3 Scranton Butcher Cover
Up for auction is an authentic #3 Scranton, PA 3rd State (Peeled) Butcher Cover that was peeled fresh out of the shrink and then placed back in the original shrink. There are a few condition considerations on this one so please read the auction text carefully before bidding. Regardless, a really nice peeled Butcher Cover recently sold for over $1800 ! While admittedly this is not a near mint piece, my price reserve is is merely a fraction of that price coming in under $550 and the Buy It Now is under $600. Usually, anything in that price range is pretty close to trashed but this one isn't. I won't bore you with all the blowhard hype and puffing that you see every week on Butcher Covers but will tell you that this is great price on a peeled butcher that was peeled right out of the shrink , so please bid accordingly. Take and chance on this Butcher Cover and give it a good home.
As I said in the introduction, there are a few condition issues on this Butcher and it isn't in near mint condition but certainly better than an entry level piece.
The most important part, which is the Butcher Slick, is decent although this slick exhibits browning due to excess/aged factory glue and aging/storage factors. The back of the jacket is clean without any writing but also exhibits some moisture browning spots. The removed trunk slick is included but not perfect with wear and tear. It appears that this was a tenacious peel but the good news is that there are only a few touched up spots here and there and nothing to lose sleep over.
Spine is solid with no breaks and all writing is clear and legible. Top seam has a 3" crack which has been neatly glued and bottom seam is complete with several inches of what appear to be kitten claw marks (not too deep) and an inch of touched up wear /paper loss spot on very end of bottom seam. 1966 Capitol orange inner sleeve and record in Good condition are included.
It's a real 1966 Butcher Cover and at better than some of the amatuer peels that you see that sell in the $650 - $800 range and far more rare as it was peeled out of the shrink and then the shrink was carefully placed back on. Shrink has a piece missing in top quarter of jacket. Proper breath holes are present in shrink and aging spots correspond to some of these holes/breaks in shrink. This is a guaranteed original 1966 Capitol 3rd state Butcher cover and NOT a reproduction, bootleg or counterfeit. Your Butcher Cover will be professionally packed in a Japanese style protective sleeve.
Free Shipping through the US only. Payment is to made within 3 days of auction end. I will ship this internationally but buyer must pay for international express. International buyers are responsible for all duty taxes which can be expensive. Backdrop in photos is a T-Shirt and used for display purposes and is NOT INCLUDED in the auction. This is a used jacket being sold in "as is" condition. Happy Bidding !
