Description

Beatles 3rd State (Peeled) Butcher Cover w/Removed Trunk Slick
High Quality Professionally Peeled Butcher Covers in general have steadily risen in value of the last few years and are fetching crazy numbers in high profile catalog auctions. Unfortunately, too many covers continue to be damaged by amateur peels and it pays to invest wisely and consider the quality of the peel when investing in a 3rd state (peeled) cover. This is very reasonably priced considering the high quality of the peel. Please take a moment to look at the close up photo of John Lennon to clearly see the quality of this peel. See last photo for this jacket in 2nd state condition prior to peel.
This Butcher Cover first time offering includes the removed trunk slick in framable condition. This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. A high quality peel recently sold in a catalog auction for $7500 ! Look for yourself at the offerings on the net and compare. This is a great opportunity to purchase a jacket that you will be proud to display and one that would be perfect to frame with the removed trunk slick. Please read complete description prior to bidding.
Condition
Butcher Cover is beautiful and something that any fan would treasure. The seams and spine have a few issues (see detailed description below) which is not unusual on most of these record jackets. Please see below for further more specific details about jacket condition. Scranton factory glue lines from the trunk adhering process is minimal.
Seams:
Top seam is mostly complete with what appears to be a fine crack in the last two inches of that seam. Same thing with the bottom seam. Both appear to have been neatly glued to mitigate the spread of these minor splits. There is a bit of wear to the borders most notable, there is a blemish on the left side border. Please see photos.
Spine:
Spine is nearly complete with most printing legible. There is slightly more than a half of an inch of missing paper above the word "Yesterday". The rest of the spine shows some general wear/cracking, etc. See spine photo.
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket shows some general light wear/aging and four small tears in the four corners where this was probably taped to a wall or other surface at one point in its lifetime. (Please see photo of back).
Trunk Slick:
Removed Trunk Slick is included as shown in decent shape and in one piece with two approximately 3 inch splits seen on Paul's body. Still well presentable enough to frame. See photo.
Record/Inner Sleeve:
Mono Record is included in poor to fair visual condition (has not been play graded). This is what came with this jacket.
Sorry, but there is no inner sleeve included with this auction.
Look around for prices and quality on Mono peels out there. Many are noticeable amateur efforts with noticeable damage from unprofessional peeling. Although this jacket does show some minor seam and spine cracks, there is no discernible repair or touch up and glue lines/residue from the Capitol factory glue application process is minimal. Regardless, this presents better than 99% of all Mono peels that you see out there in this price range. This is an awesome piece of Rock and Roll history.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to the recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $34.99. No International Shipping on this item. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts should contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please note: Butcher T-shirt seen in background is NOT included in auction.
Thank You and Happy Bidding !
