ULTRA RARE FRENCH PRESSED 1978 GREEN BOX SET & COVERS The Box Set That Started The Revolution of Box Sets!
I collected vinyl way back in mid 70's and 80's when friends in the music distribution business would tell me of special items of interest like this one. The French Pressed Beatles Green Box was one of only 2 that the distributor received for this pressing. Both of the outer Green boxes that they received had a slight top corner box wrinkle/damage from shipping (See Pictures).
THE French Green Box has a couple of unique different covers for some of the LP's. Exceptions Covers are that French Box formats are included for A Hard Day's Night as (4 Garcons Dans Le Vent), and the first album #1 (With The Beatles) has a unique cover as (Les Beatles #1). This collection was brought to the USA by Jem Distribution in 1978 where the founder of Jem traveled the world and saw so many cool and unique vinyl records that were not available in the USA and cut deals with the labels and artists to bring these now collector gems back to the USA. I have listed the details of each disc and cover below in Blue.
I never describe Vinyl as Mint unless it's sealed, thus these are listed as NM...... and have never been put on a Record Player Platter. Each Disc is Minty Mint! Comes from a NON Smoking-Non Children Home.

4. Revolver- Odeon/EMI on Vinyl: Pathe Marconi on back cover, EMI – 2 C 066 04097, only says The Beatles on the spine
5. Rubber Soul – Odeon/EMI on Vinyl: 2 C 066 4115 (Pathe Marconi on back cover, EMI – only says the Beatles on the spine
6. Sgt Pepper - Apple/EMI Label on Vinyl: Gatefold Cover Odeon 2C066 04177 also lists EMI and Pathe on the back, Includes (The SP Badges Insert)
7. Magical Mystery Tour- EMI/Parlophone on Vinyl: - Spine says Magical Mystery Tour The Beatles PCTC 255, back says same + OC 066 06 243 no other label specifics on jacket. (24 Page Booklet Included)
8. White Album – Apple Label/Pathe Marconi on Vinyl: Says The Beatles on front cover in Raised Gray Letters. Spine says The Beatles - Stereo PCS 7067-8 Mono PCM 7067-8 however the labels says SMO 2051 with YEX 709, etc. With Mint Insert and Photos. (Also 2 Small Silver Foil Stickers See Picture)
9. Yellow Submarine - Alle/EMI Label on Vinyl: Pathe / Apple 2C066 04002 Stereo Gravure Universelle.
10. Hey Jude - Apple Label on Vinyl: Pathe 2C 066 04348 (only The Beatles on the spine). Vinyl Label says The Beatles Again.
11. Abbey Road - Apple Label on Vinyl: Pathe 2C 066 04243 with Green Apple logo on the back. Only says the Beatles on the spine.
12. Let It Be - Apple Label on Vinyl: Pathe / Apple / Emi 2C 066 04433 Red Apple logo on Cover Back.
The vinyl LP's are shipped inside a larger shipping box because of size/weight and bubble wrapped. The vinyl LP's will be placed outside of the Factory Album Sleeve, in Mobile Fidelity Professional Anti Static Original Masters Sleeves. The box has 'Fragile' and 'Do not Bend' stickers on both sides. The package is roughly 12 LBS. and packed carefully.Bid with confidence as I have been a 100%ter since 1998 on eBay. I wanted to update interested Beatle Fans that I was removing the discs from covers to place in the MOFI Pro Master inner sleeves for shipment and noticed on Side 1 of St. Pepper’s some marks on cut #1 SPLHC and played it to check. The first 6 revolutions of disc you can hear slight noise on intro, guessing from the mark on edge. As I stated on my auction these have never been played as I have enough copies of each Beatles albums for my listening pleasure. I am guessing it came this way from pressing plant in France.
