AUCTION SPECIFICS AND CONDITION:
THE BEATLES HELP ALBUM (Mono) - Released August 13, 1965.
THE COVER:
The cover of this lp is in exceptional condition - very nice bright whites and crisp complimentary colors. I would give this one an overall nice VG+, or better. The seams are all in perfect condition with a couple of very light bumps on a couple of edges. Just a micro split on the inside seam of the gatefold that is about 1/2 inch in length. No writng, stains, or ringwear! As with the other Beatles lps I am offering right now, you just don't find covers very often from this time period that are this nice! It really is a way above average cover as my VG+ is very conservative. Very nice LA cover and correct inner sleeve.
THE RECORD/ VINYL / LABELS / INNER SLEEVE:
Vinyl on the LP is gorgeous full wet gloss VG++ with just light marks that denote play. Side one can be given a stunning NM- on the vinyl.
Its the labels though on this one folks! INSANELY RARE side 2 variant that has just been discovered in the last 3-4 years! If you look at the pic of the label, you will see "The Bitter End" only has Ken Thorne credits. However, that is not the extremely unusual part - there is no listing for the follow up song "You Can't Do That" with Lennon/McCartney Credits. There are 3 or 4 variants of the side 2 label, but this is by far and above the most rare. Only a handful of these have surfaced. NM copies are listed at $450 in Perry Cox's latest price guide (which is much more conservative in values than in the past). The all important label on the side 2 is VG to VG+ with a few moderate spindle marks. The other label is an unmarred NM!. Original green Capitol inner sleeve in crisp NM- condition with a small start of a split on the bottom edge - otherwise like new! Not a perfect copy, but a very beautiful and ultra rare one for sure!
