Description
The BEATLES
Hey Jude
CPCS 106
In 1970 EMI decided to release Hey Jude in America, even though they had Abbey Road in the charts over there at the time and it was doing quite well. Soon EMI realised, due to the advance orders (around 2million copies!) and the subsequent sale in the USA reaching more than 3.75 MILLION, that it would be a good idea to press export copies IN the UK!
This copy:
Catalogue Number: EMI EXPORT CPCS 106
Matrix Numbers Side 1: YEEX 150-1
Matrix Numbers Side 2: YEEX 151-1
Mothers/Stampers Side 1: 2 GT
Mothers/Stampers Side 2: 1 RM
Vinyl:
QUALITY 138g
VG+. Great sound reproduction, with just light and occasional background crackle...lovely shine! There are a few light marks to the vinyl but definately NOTHING to effect play as I have just listened to her all the way through, WITHOUT jumps or skips.
SUPERB DEEP BASS-ESPECIALLY ON THE BALLAD OF JOHN & YOKO
Really is a lovely piece!
FLAT as the day she was born.
TURN HER UP!!!
Labels: EX-.
Only very light spindle marks visible when angled towards the light.
This copy has the slightly lighter labels.
Cover: VG+. The front cover is still lovley, bright and shiny.Nice strong spine with the writing of "The Beatles Hey Jude" and "CPCS 106" printed along the spine as well as the top seam without any damage to it.
The corners have a bit of scuffing and there's a handful of half-crescent spiderings to the laminate..more visible on the back black cover. I have just noticed a tiny 1.5cm little tear to the opening-really quite neat and nothing to worry about.
Fingers of spidering eminating from the seams-again, this is more evident to the back black lamination.
No writing.
Inner: EX. "Made In Great Britain" white die-cut inner. No rips, tears or writing, just a tiny nick to the bottom seam.
SO FOLKS, THIS IS AN INCREASINGLY RARE BEATLES RECORD, MADE FOR THE EXPORT MARKET.
LOOKS GREAT-SOUNDS GREAT-IS GREAT!
