Description
Original 1970 release: Beatles - 'Let It Be' LP in box with 160 page book. Has red Apple logo on back cover of album, and original "Patent Pending" dust sleeve. Cat# PCS 7096 (Yex.773)/(Yex.774) Mfd. in U.K.
The writing on the back of the box reads: Designed by John Kosh Photographs by Ethan A Russell Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Limited (Patents Pending)
In the UK, the album was originally issued by Apple (and distributed by EMI) in a lavish boxed set that also included a book featuring stills from the Let It Be film. Several months later, the album was reissued in Great Britain in a standard LP jacket, sans book. In the United States, the Let It Be album was issued in a standard jacket, without the book. The American release was also originally issued by Apple Records, but because United Artists distributed the film, United Artists also held the rights to distribute the record in America. (EMI subsidiary Capitol, which held the Beatles' US contract, had simultaneous rights to the music on the album, and could distribute the songs on various singles and compilation albums. Capitol, however, did not have the rights to release or distribute the actual album.) To indicate that Let It Be was not distributed by Capitol, the original record label in America sported a red apple, rather than the Beatles' usual green Granny Smith apple.
The vinyl is mint (I doubt it's ever even been played) as is the book and the LP cover and dust sleeve. Box has some scuffing on inner tray ends and some signs of age on box cover but no rips, tears or gouges.
Shipping will be by registered mail (do you really want this sent via Media Mail for $4?)...I think $10 should cover it in the US.
