Description
Up for auction is a copy of The Beatles debut release for Parlophone, Love Me Do, backed with PS I Love You, cat no 45-R 4949. What more need I say? This is the original first pressing featuring Ringo on drums, pressed on the red label, without “Made In Gt Britain”, has ZPT tax codes & 1-GA/1-M pressing codes.
Condition: both surfaces have a number of surface scratches & scuffs, but each side plays through fine. There are a few spindle trails on both labels, and a couple of other marks on the a-side label, but nothing too unpleasant (no rips, tears, writing etc). Even so, this one probably doesn’t grade higher than G+. Still here’s an inexpensive way to get an increasingly rare 45.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings.
