TEXT AND WITH GEORGE MARTINS FINAL CORRECTION OF THIS MONO PRESSING 2N MATRIX FOR SIDE 2. CAT NO. PMC 1202 ABSOLUTELY AWESOME NEAR MINT AUDIO GRADED AT THE TOP!!! ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD!!! TRY TO FIND ANOTHER OF THESE RARE PRESSINGS!!!!! VERY VERY FEW PRESSED!!!!!! ORIGINAL GARROD & LOFTHOUSE FLIPBACK COVER WITH (SMALL MONO LOGO)!!!!!

Another from my personal collection. This album was purchased over 40 years ago and was initially only ever played to record tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the cover and sleeve, this is how I have always stored my records !!   I have been collecting Beatles UK pressings for over 45 years and I have accumilated ove 1000 Beatles albums alone! This particular pressing that I have listed for sale is in my opinion very rare and scarce to ever find, especially in this awesome condition, with the 2N Matrix endings for side 2. with ''Sold In The UK...'' text across the labels, and awesome original Garrod & Lofthouse Flipback cover with the Small 'Mono' text on the front!! This is the original sixth pressing only issue for a very short run! The audio quality is the best that I have heard of this pressing absolutely stunning throughout very near perfect on my systems throughout! Visually the vinyl looks and sounds like this has barely ever been played at all! Unbeleivable for a 40 year old Beatle original! Those who know that my main hobby is collecting these albums with different stampers for the facination of the different audio mixes and quality and my prime concern is ansd has always been the audio quality!! I have taken time to carefully describe and listen to this album at very loud volume on a top system prior to listing, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge, giving my honest opinion on the audio as I hear it! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!!

Please note! This is not a reissue! This was released in the UK in 1965 (42 years old) and only for a very short period, then superceded by the seventh pressing without the ''Sold In The UK ...'' text! Following notes describe the  charactoristics of this rare pressing .......... 

Sixth Pressing -Yellow and Black Parlohone labels 1965

Here we see (in the label pic bellow) Some differences in the label text with this sixth pressing Yellow and Black. Most notibly,, we now have ''The Gramophone Co Ltd....'' rim text and '' Sold In The UK...'' across the labels!! (note all previous pressing from 1st to 5th all feature ''Parlophone co..'' rim text! This pressing is also unique for the Garrod & Lofthouse Flipback cover which features the Small ''Mono'' text on the front (only sixth press) Earlier covers featured large mono text and most were pressed by E.Day & co very few were pressed by Garrod & Lofthouse!!

The Vinyl

The first important thing to note is that this has the original thick and heavy\chuncky type of vinyl only found like this on early pressings! These have deep grooves and therefor are much more robust than later press which are much more flimsy! On visual inspection the vinyls playing surface is awesome and it is hard for me to even see a blemish at all. This looks and sounds like this has only ever been played a handful of times unbeleivable for 42 years old like this beleive me! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only, there are no scratches or marks that would cause any clicks or pops and certainly no skips or jumps!! 

The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl track for track at very loud volume on a top system prior to listing, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! In beif the audio was near as perfect on my systems! I heard no distortion at all which confirms to me that this vinyl has barely been played more than a handful of times ever! There was no clicks or pops and even in between tracks this was almost silent! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to very near perfect throughout!

The Labels

These feature ''Sold In The UK...'' text across the labels (Only Sixth Press) ''The Gramophone Co...''' rim text (Only Sixth Press) Little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round! Any spidering can even be counted (this looks and sounds like it has barely been played more than a handful of times ever) Unique to sixth press is the text is smaller Please note the Date 1963 is featuured but ''Recording 1st published'' is Omited!! K.T. tax code is stamped on side 1 (only earliest press)

The Cover

This is the original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover! Unique because it carries the 'SMALL' mono logo! Rarely seen! This is strong and straight and superglossy in appearence indeed! Minor creases or marks in the laminate barely visable unless looked for the rear is exceptionaly clean! This must grade at least excellent in my opinion if not better!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original Emitex poly lined sleeve just light creasing with age must be at least excellent!
