Please Please Me LP by The Beatles MONO PMC 1202
This isa ***FIRST PRESSING*** of the Beatles VERY FIRST album 'Please Please Me' on the much sought after ***GOLD AND BLACK LABEL***. The stamper codes are the VERY FIRST 1/P and 1/L. It has 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd' label rim text and 'Made in Gt. Britain' label text. It has the ***DICK JAMES MUSIC*** credits onboth sides!! The Vinyl Disc comes in the polythene lined inner, with the 'Important > Take Good care of Your Microgroove Records...' text and is housed in the SUPERB 1st Issue Laminated Ernest J. DayThree Flipback Picture Sleeve.
SLEEVE
The Ernest J. Day sleeve has very little creasing to the front laminate. There is VERY SLIGHT scuffing at the corners, a few light nicks at the top edge, and a tiny bit of wear at the record entry point. The Angus Mc Bean photograph of the fab four has lovely deep unfaded colours. The spine is perfect, with the words Please Please Me - The Beatles crystal clear. On the reverse, all three flipbacks are in perfect condition, and there is only minimal discolouration to the white areas. There are NO tears and NO handwriting. The sleeve grades as ***EXCELLENT+++*** .
INNER
This is the polythene lined inner, with the'Important > Take Good Care...' text. It is in ***EXCELLENT*** condition. There is just a bit of creasing at the corners, and mild discolouration, mainly at the record entry point. There is one slight tear at one of the centre holes, and a couple of little ones at the top. There is NO handwriting.
LABELS
These are the VERY FIRST ISSUE***GOLD AND BLACK*** labels. They are ***EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT*** !!! Both look SUPERB, with just a bit of light scuffing towards the centre hole on Side 1, and very light centre hole scuffing on each side. The is NO spindle wear!!
VINYL
I have examined both sides in VERY STRONG sunlight, and have detected a fewvery light hairlines on each side, a couple quite long. However, I must stress that these are so light that they have VIRTUALLY NO EFFECT on playback. There is the usual light paper scuffing. My grading of the vinyl is ***VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT*** .

AUDIO
The audio is SENSATIONAL!! The typical outstanding quality of a VERY FIRST PRESSING!! All tracks sound AWESOME!! On Side 1, the only flaw is a bit of very soft backgroundcrackle in the quiet bits on 'Ask Me Why'. The 'silent' bands between the tracks are nice and quiet. apart from a bit of soft crackle after 'Ask me Why' and 'Please PleaseMe'. This side grades as ***EXCELLENT+++*** . Side 2 is ***EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT*** . Again, all tracks play with superb sound quality. The only 'flaw' is that some of the 'silent' bands have a couple of very soft clicks and a bit of very soft crackle.
This much sought after ***GOLD AND BLACK** label FIRST PRESSING of The Beatles very first album is being offered with a VERY LOW starting price and with NO RESERVE!!
I am privileged in having very sensitive Hi-Fi equipment, which shows up any slight flaw, so I feel that I am able to grade records accurately.
