Description
This is the VERY RARE Black & Gold MONO UK 1963 1st Pressing called 'Please Please Me' on the 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label!!!! It is also the most sought after Black & Gold 1st Pressing with the 'Dick James' credits to BOTH labels!!!! THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT!!!! BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND AND INCREDIBLY SOUGHT AFTER!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS A VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING INDEED WITH MOTHER AND STAMPERS BEING 1/GM & 2/RD (VERY EARLY MOTHER & STAMPER CODES)!!!! THE MATRIXES ARE ALSO 1ST PRESS MATRIXES ENDING IN 1N/1N!!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE UK 1963 BLACK & GOLD MONO 1ST PRESSING (WITH 'DICK JAMES' CREDITS) AND IS EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND!!!! DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MASSIVELY RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL MONO UK 1st pressing from 1963 and is EXTREMELY rare indeed!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK Black & Gold 1st pressing on the 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label (with the 1st Press 'Dick James' Credits), 'The Parlophone Company' edge text, NO 'Sold In The UK' text, NO 'First Published' text, LARGE Mono on the cover front, E.J.Day Flipback Laminated Cover, and 1st Press Polythene lined 'thicker paper' Emitex inner!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N. The stamper codes are 1/GM & 2/RD. The Cat. No is PMC 1202 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels are still in nice overall condition (see pictures) with NO nasty heavy wear, NO writing, and the labels are still VERY black looking indeed!!!! The only thing to mention on these labels is that the Gold print (although still FULLY readable) has faded over time. The vinyl is in VERY nice condition overall and certainly NOT 'trashed'!!!! As many collectors know - Black and Gold Records are the VERY hardest Beatles Pressings to find in anywhere near decent condition. Most are found damaged and barely playable. However this one is NOT and the first thing to STRESS is that although it has a few visual imperfections, the vinyl is NOT 'covered' in marks and scratches and still plays well!!!! It has 3 or 4 hairline type marks, a few light hairlines, 2 or 3 light scufflines, and a few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with only a few clicks/pops (though most of the record has NONE), NO sticking, NO jumps, and only some low level crackle in places (ALWAYS low level - absolutely NO nasty loud 'frying bacon' crackle - GUARANTEED)!!!! There is also some low level background sound on the gaps, run on grooves, etc - but this is completely lost in the music!!!! The record must grade STRICTLY Good (PROPERLY graded, NOT 'wrecked') if not better!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press POLYTHENE lined 'thicker paper' Emitex inner sleeve!!!! The E.J.Day FLIPBACK Cover is in GREAT condition overall with NO major faults!!!! It has barely ANY top edge wear AT ALL, some slight roughening to the bottom edge (NO splits), NO spinal wear, some corner wear (NO splits), only a few light creases (cover is still VERY flat looking) and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT overall condition with NO writing, barely ANY grubbyness AT ALL, only VERY slight yellowing, and only some slight roughening/creasing in places to the EDGES ONLY of the flipbacks (NO flipback loss AT ALL)!!!! The cover must grade Good (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed) if not better and has NO major faults!!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LEGENDARY LP AND IS VERY HARD TO FIND!!!! THIS IS ALSO A GREAT CHANCE FOR SOMEONE TO OWN THIS INCREDIBLY RARE LP AT A CHEAPER PRICE THAN THE HUGE PRICE REQUIRED FOR A MINT COPY!!!! IT IS STILL PRESENTABLE AND PLAYS WELL - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
TAKE A LOOK AT PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE Beatles LP!!!!
