Description
Please Please Me * The Beatles 1st Year Pressing - 1963 Stereo Parlophone
Below are the factoids that indicate it is a 1st Year Pressing. It is very rare, especially with the vinyl in such great condition
The Yellow & Black label was introduced in 1963 following the very first pressing of "Please Please Me" on April 26 1963. It has the GOLD label. This LP was issued in the latter part of 1963.
The front cover photo is credited, in the lower right corner, to Angus McBean; liner notes on the back cover by Tony Barrow match the first pressing cover, as does the lower rear cover credit for Ernest Day printers.
The matrix sequences, on this LP, of yex 94 1 and yex 95 1 were present on all pressings in the year of 1963.
The wording, on this LP, "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963" was present on all 1963 pressings.
I am not an expert on condition grading. The cover shows wear, and the labels on both sides show some scratching. However, the condition of the vinyl on both sides is beautiful. I cannot see any scratches but I do see a minor rub on side one near the third song. It does not interfere with playing.
Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Shipping and insurance will be $15.
Good luck and please check out my other Beatles auction for a 1963 FIRST pressing of their SECOND album "With The Beatles".
