This auction is for a an original STEREO 1st pressing of the Beatles LP 'A Hard Day's Night' on the UK Parlophone label. This pressing has the original 'chubby' typeset on the labels, indicating a 1st press.
Back in 1964 the stereo format was still very much the underdog. Stereo discs cost more than their mono counterparts and stereophonic record players were still priced up to the point of being a highly expensive luxury. Because of this, the original stereo presses sold in far, far fewer numbers than the mono presses. Only a tiny percentage of the original chubby typeset 1st presses were stereo and, today, are extremely rare and highly collectible!
Would make a great addition to any Beatles collection!

The cover is holding up nicely for its age but is showing some wear and tear. The front looks pretty good but with some light creasing in the laminate. There's a little dirt buildup and some disc impression but nothing too heavy or intrusive. Top and bottom seams have a few little creases running through them but are holding tight with no splits or tears. The spine is holding tightly but one crease in the middle has caused a little wear and has obscured the spinetext a little, but the rest is still readable. The back cover has browned a little and has some spots of stain and some light browning down the mouth edge. The overflaps are holding tight and have some little creases running through them. Overall, though, not looking too bad. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) :G+/VG-
The playing surface has a really nice, crisp shine to it! There's a fair amount of very light, faint scuffmarks on the playing surface. There are also some slightly heavier looking scuffs (1 on side 1 and 3 on side 2) that look quite noticeable under my desk lamp but are unfeelable under the finger. Apart from these heavier looking scuffs the playing surface looks nice!

The labels are clean with bright, silver text. There's some light spindlewear and some whitening around the centrehole as you can see in the photos above. Nice labels overall, though!.
