Description
THE BEATLES: NORWEGIAN WOOD/IF I NEEDED SOMEONE (Capitol 19341, black vinyl "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" CEMA Special Markets issue): UNPLAYED M-, with jukebox title strip.
Collectors of the CEMA Special Markets Beatles and solo colored vinyl 45s know that this single, on black vinyl, is overshadowed by the green vinyl version (Capitol 18888). There were only 1000 copies pressed in green, and it appears that only about 650 of those were actually sold (the whereabouts of the other 350 are unknown; if you have them, I want to talk to you!)
Trying to put together a complete set of the 30 Beatles colored vinyl 45s is tough enough, but Capitol 18888 is a total stopper; it seldom comes up for sale at any price. The alternative is to add this black vinyl Norwegian Wood to the 29 colored vinyls. The resulting demand has driven up the price of this comparatively "common" single in recent years. Some sellers demand $50 or more for it, without the jukebox title strip we're including in this auction.
Even the black vinyl release isn't really common; educated estimates run from 10,000 to 20,000 copies pressed. This would rank it among the rarest stock-copy Beatles 45s ever released in the U.S.; so the $50 price might actually be a bargain!
Well, the Beatlemanics at BeatleDave try not to be TOO greedy, so we're opening this single at $9.99 without reserve; but it won't end there. If you don't wish to compete with all the collectors who want to add that 30th single to their sets, you can just buy-it-now for $39.99. But don't hesitate; once somebody bids, the buy-it-now offer goes away. And we don't know how long it'll be before we can relist this one!
SPECIAL REDUCED SHIPPING! We're expanding our reduced shipping charge: only $3 to first-class this 45; additional 45s only 50 cents each to ship.
We offer an unconditional money-back guarantee; if you're not happy, return it for a refund. We offer a combined shipping discount for multiple-lot winners. Add us to your favorite sellers list, and check out our great auctions and other buy-it-now bargains!
