Description

Most of the "Oldies 45" singles out there are the counterfeits made in the late 1960s and 1970s, but this one is the real deal... proper stampings and logos.

Original authentic "Twist And Shout" b/w "There's A Place" Beatles Oldies 45 single from autumn 1964 in VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus) condition using the grading standards of the "Beatles Price Guide For American Records" (2009) by Cox/Daniels.

These grading standards tend to be more stringent than Goldmine.  Spizer version OL 152.02 (the "OL-152" version versus the "OL 152" version) manufactured by National Record Corporation (NRC) on styrene (not vinyl).  Oldies 45 was a subsidiary label of Vee Jay Records. Vee Jay did not press their own records but subbed it out to a few record manufacturers.

The "R" registered trademark logo is visible on the labels above the "5" in the "Oldies 45" logo although very slightly worn like the rest of the label. This and the other Oldies 45 records Beatles records were counterfeited in large numbers; these counterfeits almost always lack or have a very blurry "R” (registered trademark) logo.

Besides the MR (Monarch Records stamped logo), 63-3194 and DELTA51071X and DELTA 51071 63-3173 are the runout etchings. These are the etchings that the originals had.

Condition - VG++
The record is in very nice condition with some very minor hairline scratches, mostly in the runout. No water stains, ink, stickers, etc. on the labels. Very minor wear to the labels. Both sides play through very nicely with no issues.

See photos.  A nice addition to any Beatles collection.
