This is the 1977 first pressing and sealed double album set of The Beatles entitled, "Love Songs". This original first pressing album is on Capitol/EMI Records SKBL-11711. This is a tough album to find out there still sealed and in really nice shape, always has been because it is now 41 years old and a very thick 2LP set with custom sleeves and a very beautiful and thick parchment lyrics booklet written in calligraphy. Overall in EX condition and at discounted price!
These are definitely amazing love songs on this 2-album gatefold set. Capitol Records went all out on this production to each detail starting with a simulated leather-like brown cover with gold inlay that really pops. Next, they made each custom liner inside to look like parchment paper and gave the entire collection a very prestigious and regal look with calligraphy writing not only on the liners, but throughout the amazing lyrics booklet included inside. The booklet alone should be worth about $15 these days if truth be told. They also have custom labels on each record and a beautiful gatefold photo that you may recognize.
This version is completely sealed in tight shrink wrap with no breaks except a tiny little sliver on the top left where the gatefold meets the spine (and that is not uncommon due to the thickness inside this sealed set). All seams are nice and the spine is good-to-go with the exception of a 1/8" tiny little cut where the record stores started discounting these albums to move them off the shelves. Most saw marks are quite pronounced, yet this one is as minimal as I've seen - barely touched it. The gold foil logo in the middle is beautiful and this comes with the rare gold oval hype sticker promoting the Beatles' love songs. Corners are pretty decent and there are a few small pushes to the corners - bottom left on back cover has the most (see photos).
Overall I would still have to grade this complete 2-LP set as Excellent, but not Near Mint- still. An excellent opportunity to grab this phenomenal package at a discounted rate.
I have described this total LP as accurately as possible and it will be a fantastic addition to any collector's records. I'm quite strict about my grading.
