Description
Here is a Very Good Plus first mono pressing of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, with an extra dot on the label on side 1 after "in": "SOLD IN.U.K. ...." The matrix numbers are XEX637-1 and XEX 638-1 and mother stampers are 1 M GT (side 1) and MA G (side 2). Also has KT tax code on side 1. The record still looks fantastic! It still retains its shine and lies perfectly flat on the turntable. There are a few very faint hairlines on the vinyl - mostly almost invisible, presumably caused by taking the record in & out of its sleeve. There are a couple of surface marks - one across a couple of tracks in the middle of side 1 (Lucy/Getting Better), one at the beginning of side 2 (a few grooves), and a light scuff across A Day In the Life. None of the marks can be felt or heard! The label has a number of spindle marks. The record plays through with a small amount of consistent surface noise (explained by the spindle marks!) but there are no pops, jumps, skips or scratches - even the quiet passage at the end of Day in The Life as the piano fades out plays back extremely well. The record comes in a plain white inner. The sleeve has some creasing to the spine and edges, and 3 thumb creases, and some laminate cracking on the spine. The spine is still fully readable, though it is very narrow. There are bumps to each of the corners and some ringwear on the back. There are a few small creases on the cutouts insert - one on the bottom right edge, and 4 on the left-hand side due to handling. Graded as follows: Record VG+ Sleeve VG+ Cut-outs VG+. Record will be sent in a proper mailer with cardboard stiffeners.
