The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" 1st UK Stereo Press Vinyl LP, Parlophone, PCS 7027, 26th May 1967.


Original first UK Stereo pressing of The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's in stunning M-! condition from its original release date of 26th May 1967. Complete with original Fool's designed psychedelic 'swirl' inner sleeve, and Peter Blake's 'cutouts' insert. 1st matrix ending (-1/-1) and low mother and stampers (3 GOL / 1 GPM) confirm it's 'hot-off-the-press' status and the top play and visual condition make this a real treat for collectors and listeners alike.

1st Label:  Black and yellow Parlophone label with "The Gramophone Co. Ltd." in the perimeter and "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price lists" below the logo, later issued without "Sold in the U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price lists" at the top. 


1st Sleeve: Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold laminated sleeve with flipbacks at the inner gatefold top, later issued without inner flipbacks. 


1st Inner: Psychedelic un-punched white liner overprinted with red half-tone by 'Fool's' design studio, later issued with a plain white inner. 


1st Insert: Dark green, thick card 'cutout' insert designed by Peter Blake, later issued in a lighter green background.


Closed Loop: Features the closed-loop of backwards audio at the end of side two that loops at the end of the record. 



CONDITION:


The Disc

Fantastic glossy playing surfaces with no scratches of marks visible in good daylight and no marks or hairlines visible when viewed under focused halogen spotlight. The disc sits completely flat on the turntable without warping or dishing, MINT-!


The Audio

The playback is faultless! Quiet lead-ins to both sides, and between tracks. No pops, clicks and clearly no skips at this top grade. Quiet tracks like 'She's Leaving Home' often the litmus test for Sgt Peppers LHCB plays beautifully without issue. MINT-!


The Sleeve

The sleeve is glossy and clean, without ring wear, storage or shelf wear. The edges are sharp and unworn as is the spine which is sharp and without wear from corner to corner. Clearly there are no stains, rips, pen, or marks with this top grade. MINT-!


The Insert

Clean without wear, clearly unused and without issue. MINT-


The Inner

Remarkably the original inner has no splitting. Some discolouration at the white side. No pen, stains, rips, or marks. EXCELLENT!
