'She Loves You' (Swan Records 45)
In August of 1963 the Beatles hit the scene in the UK with their 4th new single "She Loves You" and "I'll Get You." With such a track record of hits in the UK, it was only natural that they would try to get their records launched in the US as well.
This single came out in America in September of '63 but it seemed nobody could be bothered to play some oddball group from England when groups like The Angles, Bobby Vinton and Jimmy Gilmer were topping the charts. But once the lads appeared on Ed Sullivan, it all changed. Suddenly their singles were hot commodities, and this 45 of 'She Loves You' stormed up the US charts.
There were six variations of the BLACK LABEL pressing of this single, and this one has a stamped matrix number (not a bootleg). It was mastered at the Reco Art plant in Philadelphia (one of four producing the 45). The strange part is that the publishing on "She Loves You" is credited to Gil Music, not Northern Music, as it should be. How did that happen?
Did I mention it’s still in the original picture sleeve too! What a bonus .
