Description
Rare picture sleeve 7" made in Greece in (possibly) 1964. Apparently produced in very limited numbers. I have seen a similar on-sale in Ebay for more than £120.
This single was produced by Odeon/Parlophone. The back of the sleeve says in Greek: "Beatles the emperors of vinyl and their greatest hits only on Odeon/Parlophone records". So, the same sleeve was used for other Beatles hit singles; those hits are all listed at the back of the sleeve (see photo 2). This particular sleeve contained record ref GMSP57. Side A: I should have known better. Side B: Tell Me Why. GMSP is the country of issue code.
The single had minimal play upon purchase and has been kept in storage since then. So it is in fantastic condition:
a. Vinyl is in mint condition with no scratches, marks, etc. Purple Parlophone label centre. See photo.
b. sleeve in excellent condition with no tears, cuts, scratches. There is no colour fading; the colours are strong and clear as when record was bought from new around 45 years' ago (look how strong the front sleeve colours appear on photo 1 - and that's just my photo !). There is some normal ringwear, as seen in my photos. On the back of the sleeve, the original owner circled in pen the name of the song when he bought it
Picture Sleeve singles at this condition very rarely become available. I include price for standard postage but please let me know if you require Registered post.
